Denmiss LLC history

Dennis Supply Company was founded in 1935 in Sioux City, Iowa by Carter and Ebba Dennis.

When his son, Lawrence Dennis (above), took over operations in 1945, productions had increased dramatically.

In 1949, the company incorporated and came to be known as the Dennis Bottling Company.

In the 1950’s Dennis Bottling Co. began distributing malt beverages.

They were able to purchase the Bellevue-Dayton Cab Company, but little did they know that they were building something much larger than they could have dreamed… It all started in 1961.

Carter R. Dennis joined the business with his father and Jim Stewart in 1974.

After almost two decades of successful business and buying out competing cab companies, Carl and Gary Ward assumed ownership of the company in 1977, believing they could continue to grow the family business and make their parents proud.

ColorMasters was Founded in March of 1986.

They were pictured together on the cover of Distributor magazine after Dennis Supply was selected the 1988 Distinguished Distributor.

In 1993 Rick was able to launch and establish Executive Charter, Inc as the newest addition to the Executive business with only two motor coaches and today has grown to a fleet over 20 motor coaches.

In 2001, Airport Executive Shuttle was founded; its primary function to provide a shared shuttle service for travelers, airline staff, and business travelers.

In 2005 central Iowa based Wayne Dennis Supply locations again became part of the Dennis Supply corporate family, building the company to the current 13 branch locations.

In 2015 owner Ron Dennis sold the company to the employees, a decision designed to keep Dennis an independent, locally owned company.
