Registered DentalAssistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. The primary role of the Registered DentalAssistant (RDA) is to assist the dentist in gaining the patient's commitment to the best possible treatment, with urgency. Key duties associated with assisting the dentist in starting treatment include: utilizing x-ray time to promote the good qualities of the dentist, learning the patient's expectations while educating them with intra-oral pictures, using effective and anticipatory chair-side skills, and effectively supporting the dentist's diagnosis after the examination when the patient asks questions. The RDA should abide by procedures needed for compliance with state and federal safety regulation, infection control, and permitted duties.
Responsibilities

At the direction of the dentist, complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures of patients as appropriate
At the direction of the dentist, instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care.
Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatories in accordance with the American Dental Association guidelines
Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations, (e.g., OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, HR policies and practices)
Qualifications
Equivalent to high school diploma or general education degree (GED), and specified training courses as mandated by state for certification, licensure, or registration
Certifications/licenses/registrations as mandated by applicable state (e.g. coronal polish, radiograph exposure, ultrasonic scaling for orthodontic procedures, pit and fissure sealant application, etc)
Associate degree or one-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

Instructs patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
Provides postoperative instructions prescribed by Dentist.
Records treatment information in patient records.
Collaborates with all coworkers in performing duties required to provide patient-focused services that meet all regulatory and licensing standards.
Maintains current CPR certification.
Maintains high confidentiality standards at all times. Is required to sign a confidentiality statement upon acceptance of employment.

Additional Desired Qualifications:
Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
Education and Experience:
RDA or DA Certification
At least 6 months of experience working in a dental office preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long period of time, bend, kneel and lift heavy objects.

Documentation of DentalAssistant Training
Current radiograph certification with the State of California.
Valid CPR/1st Aid certification

The Medical Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting dermatology physicians by delivering high-quality patient care. Pay range is $17 - $21 hourly. Hours are Monday - Friday, 8 hours daily.
Essential Functions:
To perform effectively in this role, the candidate must fulfill the following duties with or without reasonable accommodations:
Collaborate with a team to manage an average patient volume of up to 40 patients daily.
Document patient histories, including history of present illness (HPI), medical, surgical, and family history, medications, and allergies.
Prepare and assist with dermatological and cosmetic procedures, including ED&Cs, biopsies (shave and punch), ILK, I&D, Botox, laser treatments, excisions, and other surgical interventions.
Administer local anesthesia and remove sutures as directed.

Process prescription refills and manage prior authorizations.
Log pathology samples and coordinate with appropriate laboratories.
Operate specialized equipment such as Narrowband UVB and photodynamic therapy units.
Maintain and replenish liquid nitrogen containers.
Clean and stock examination rooms and supply areas.
Ensure adherence to organizational infection control protocols.
Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising physician or department lead.
