This role is responsible for assisting chairside, maintaining operatory inventory, ensuring proper sterilization and infection control, and preparing treatment rooms and materials.
Key Responsibilities
Daily, weekly, and monthly tasks include (but are not limited to):
Assist the dentist with all aspects of patient care.
Reinforce preventive care instructions to patients.
Seat and prepare patients for treatment.
Support patients during dental procedures while ensuring comfort and calm.
Clean and disinfect operatories after each procedure.
Prepare tray set-ups and sterilize all instruments.
Expose digital radiographs (X-rays).
Take preliminary impressions as needed.
Monitor all lab cases to ensure readiness for patient appointments.
Maintain accuracy of the lab tracking system.
Manage dental supply inventory and ensure operatory readiness.
Follow OSHA guidelines and company safety policies.
Assist with obtaining 5-star Google reviews through excellent service.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Assists Dentist in advanced procedures such as crown/bridge prep, oral surgery procedures, and endodontic treatment.
Handle laboratory procedures such as pouring impressions, model trimming, fabricating mouth guards, temporary crowns, retainers, and other appliances as well as case management follow up. This shall include the correct documentation needed for lab slips and contact with the dental laboratory companies.
Handle patient education such as post op instructions, oral hygiene instruction, consent forms and other forms of clinical education.
Scheduling of follow up appointments when required.
Provide a proper handoff to the administration staff and properly communicate ongoing treatment needs.
Each night, make post up follow up calls to any patients having invasive procedures such as extractions, crowns, or root canals.

Insert matrix bands and wedges; Place cavity bases and liners;
Place and/or remove rubber dams.
Fabricate and cement temporary restorations using temporary cement.
Apply acid tech materials/rinses; Apply bonding agents.
Remove periodontal dressings, sutures, excess cement.
Place gingival retraction cord;
Flush, dry and temporarily close root canals;
Place and remove temporary restorations;
Insert Interdental spacers; Fit (size) orthodontic bands or brackets.
Apply dentin desensitizing solutions;
Perform extra-oral adjustments which affect function, fit or occlusion of any temporary restoration or appliance.
Polish the clinical crown using only- a hand-held brush and appropriate polishing agents or a combination of a slow speed handpiece (not to exceed 10,000 rpm) with attached rubber cup or bristle brush and appropriate polishing agents
Perform all other duties as assigned.
