PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Expanded Duty DentalAssistant (EDDA) assists dentists in providing efficient and effective care and treatment of patients. The EDDA is responsible for prepping the operatory for patient procedures, arranging patient trays, escorting patients from waiting area to the operatory, and assisting the dentist with each clinical procedure. EDDAs are tasked with keeping the operatory stocked, processing dental equipment through the cleaning steps to ensure proper sterilization, organizing patient flow for optimum efficiency and cleaning and sterilizing the operatory following patient procedures. The Expanded Duty DentalAssistant works as part of an integrated care team to provide high quality coordinated care.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
Follow guidelines for patient workflow and monitor schedule for quick patient care.
Complete all steps necessary to prepare operatory and room patient prior to dentist seeing the patient, including collecting health history and updating patient chart. Review chart notes and verify reason for visit with patient.
Assist the dentist throughout the patient visit and work under direction of the dentist to complete all tasks associated with direct patient care including chairside assisting, 4-handed dentistry, etc. Obtain radiographic images and load into EDR system. Deliver preventive education to patients.
Conduct expanded functions as directed by dentist.
Complete paperwork associated with patient care (i.e. lab cases, preauthorization requests) as directed by the dentist and/or supervisor.
Determine and schedule follow-up appointments as required, explain post-treatment instructions to patients, and see patient to check-out desk to finalize the visit.
Completes all necessary procedures for maintaining proper maintenance of the operatory and dental equipment.
Uses downtime to complete activities that support efficient departmental operation.
Completes departmental activities that support the hygienist to further support efficiency and team goals.
Performs related work and other duties or tasks as assigned.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma and Certificate of Expanded DentalAssistant Functions
Minimum Work Experience: Minimum 1-year dentalassisting experience preferred.

This amazing dentalassisting opportunity will work either a 4- day schedule, Tuesday through Friday from 6 am to 4 pm, or a 5- day schedule, Monday through Friday from 6 am to 2 pm. This dentalassistant position will work between 2 facilities, Luther Luckett Correctional Complex and Roederer Correctional Complex. Both of the facilities are located in LaGrange, KY. This position is a rewarding, low stress alternative to private practice dentistry that offers health insurance, including optional dental and vision coverage as well as generous paid time off and paid holidays. There are no late nights or weekends required for this position. Mid America Health offers competitive compensation of $20 per hour.

Job Duties:
Complete all necessary competencies.
Perform/document vital signs, withdrawal scores, CLIA- waived testing such as blood glucose measurement and document/communicate progress of clients to the Provider or medical treatment area personnel.
Ensure that Medical Rooms are clean.
File medical papers on current and discharged clients.
Maintain inventory for first aid products.

Are you a caring team player who delivers exceptional clinical services? In this CMA/LPN role, you provide direct patient care while working as part of a diverse care team. We are looking for a CMA/LPN who is well organized and comfortable with patient flow in a busy primary care setting. A multi-tasker who engages with professionalism, delivers exceptional customer service, and ensures compliance. Previous medical office experience is preferred for CMA/LPN position.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
1. Collect and maintain patient data, social history, and vital statistics. Assist providers with examinations.
2. Conduct in-office services within the scope of practice, including phlebotomy, lab collections and CLIA waived tests, administer injections and medications, dress wounds and incisions, assist with emergency and minor surgery, conduct EKGs, and conduct hearing and vision screenings, etc.
3. Complete provider orders, assist with patient communication and requests, call in prescriptions, share physicians' instructions with patients.
4. Maintain stock of supplies and medication. Conduct instrument sterilization and care. Maintain exam rooms and treatment/lab areas.
5. Assist with other duties or in other departments as instructed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education - Completion of an accredited medical assisting or nursing program
Required License - Current Kentucky Nursing license -OR- Certification/Registration for medical assisting
Basic Life Support Certification
