Required Qualifications:

A few details about the role:
Set- up medication for residents and provide medication, under the direction and monitoring of a licensed nurse, and according to physician orders. May order/reorder medications.
Record and document all medication, treatment and care provided for residents.
Take and record vital signs of residents.
Prepare monthly summaries, may take off physician orders and prepares chart for new residents.
Respond to resident calls and requests.
Assist residents with activities of daily living.
And here's what you need to apply:
High school diploma or equivalent
Some directly related work experience preferred
Have and maintain medication aide licensure per state requirements.

Essential Functions Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Broad Functions * Responsible for facilitating training for new hires and maintaining ongoing training for current employees * Create and monitor new employee schedules
* Should be available to resolve patient complaints or issues
* Will be the person to "float" to provide coverage in pods when other employees are out
* Checking off competencies, chart audits, follow clinical staff to ensure consistency within all pods
* Host 1 on 1 and group training sessions.
* Must be proficient in Athena/EMR
Clinical Duties
* Performs chart checks and prepares for daily clinics.
* Greets patients with a smile and pleasant attitude.
* Escort patients from waiting areas to exam rooms while addressing their safety and needs.
* Obtains patient's intake ensuring that all information on history forms is complete and correct.
* Obtains patient's blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, fall risk and pain scale (when applicable).
* Records all information including but not limited to active problems, past medical and surgical history, vitals, medications, allergies, family history in the first generation, social history including smoking status, flu tetanus, and pneumonia vaccinations.
* Records any orders that are needed for the patient if not entered by the physician.
* Work closely with physicians, PA, and NP to receive guidance and instruction for treating patients.
* Assist physician during exams if needed.
* Prepares injections
* May be required to cast, splint, or place DME equipment as needed by physician.
* Able to remove casts, splints, or DME equipment to prepare patient to be seen by physician.
* Remove sutures and staples in a proper manner in compliance with blood borne pathogen policy.
* Schedules appointments, tests, and surgeries.
* Must be able to document encounters with patients in a clear, precise and accurate manner.
* Gives pre and posttest/surgical instructions verbally and written as directed by physician.
* Communicates information between physician, PA, or NP and the patient and ensures are questions are answered.
* Answers phone calls and return all messages in the same business day. Even if that communication is just to inform patient that medical assistant is waiting on further instructions from the physician.
* Obtain pre-certifications from insurance for all tests and surgeries to be performed.
* Completion of disability forms, orders, ABN's.
* Performs or assists in any duties required for efficiency, quality, and to meet patient's and physicians schedule.
* Clean, organize, and stock rooms, supply closets, and injection areas.
* Comply with federal HIPAA regulations and practice policies for the privacy and security of patient information.
