Consistently record information on the treatment router and patient history forms as instructed by the treating dentist
Consistently select appropriate tray sizes for patients' impression materials, and assist dentist with patient impressions, upon direction from the treating dentist

Upon direction and supervision of the treating dentist, and within legal guidelines of expanded duties, assist dentist with adjustments on dentures and denture insertions

Take and develop x-rays as needed (has certification, where certification is required)

Allergy Medical Assistants/EMTs
Charleston ENT & Allergy is seeking a full-time ALLERGY MEDICAL ASSISTANT to join our practice! This critical role will provide efficient and competent support for our allergy department. Our Allergy MAs are imperative for our allergy patients to get the care they need. Allergy MAs wear many hats, whether it's in our allergy clinic, performing allergy testing, or mixing allergy vials. This person is detail-oriented and extremely organized, able to transition from working with numbers to working with people. We go above and beyond for our patients, whether it's by traveling to various offices, taking on extra training, continuing our education, or just jumping in wherever needed. Travel
We have an additional four offices for a total of EIGHT OFFICES in the area! You may be asked to travel to any one of these offices at any time. Successful candidates will LOVE challenges and thrive on spontaneity. This position is for the person that never wants to be bored at work.
Pay
Take advantage of our COMPETITIVE pay scale. We offer $20.00-$23.00/hourly, depending on experience! As you progress in your MA training, you are eligible for additional increases.
Clinic opening and closing
Performing allergy shots, and taking vitals
Allergy treatments & vial mixing
Calling in prescriptions
Triaging patients and assisting physicians with patients and procedures
Administering tympanometry exams for ear pressure
Managing hospital consultation requests for physicians
Floating between front and back office responsibilities as needed
Scanning patient records and other information as necessary
Contacting insurance companies to pre-certify tests and procedures for Physicians
Providing excellent customer service to patients
Other duties as assigned

Full-time Description
The Medical Assistant II Certified (MA II) supports the delivery of urological services, performs work as required and functions as an effective member of the interdisciplinary team. The Medical Assistant II Certified is tasked
to perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the medical
offices running smoothly. This position
collaborates/work with staff within their practice or other professional
disciplines within the affiliated medical groups as needed to achieve effective
and efficient patient care delivery and the desired patient outcomes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
The MA II Certified will perform various administrative and clinical duties under the direction of their assigned direct supervisor.
The MA II Certified will consistently confer with physicians, nursing, and other staff members to coordinate and schedule appointments of patients.
Performs additional responsibilities within the office that encompasses at least 50% of their daily time.
Greets and prepare patients.
Measures and records vital signs.
Records patient interview, history, and chief complaint.
Provides patient education with regards to medications, management of diseases, home treatments and special diets.
Prepares patients for examinations and performs routing screening tests.
Assists physicians with exams.
Preforms phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens.
Performs basic lab tests.
Performs EKG's.
Assists with X-ray and physician therapy procedures.
Prepares and administers medications with physician authorization.
Change dressings, applies bandages, removes sutures and other first aid procedures.
Uses CPR skills when necessary.
Prepares accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
Opens office in the morning and closes in the afternoon.
Assist in maintaining patient logs for the following: Lab requests, CT scans and other treatment orders for the patients.
Maintains prescription ledger when needed.
Ensures the back office has good flow, keeps rooms full and assists with room turnover.
Performs new patient thorough work-up (x-rays, vitals, new patient packet explanation).
Adds medical history on all new patients and accurately updates all established patients' history.
Performs accurate and complete room set-up for physician.
Ensures that all patients medication is updated before physician visit.
Handles set-up for in office surgical procedures.
Ensures appropriate consent form is completed correctly avoiding the use of too many medical abbreviations within the consent forms.
Scribe as assigned per physician office flow.
Prepares for seeing patients the following day, including patient confirmation for next day visit.
Completes patient medical record requests when necessary.
Assists in the orientation and training of new personnel.
Assist with other administrative projects and tasks as needed.
Ensures proper hand off of responsibilities once their task is completed.
Meets established attendance criteria and starts work promptly.
Punctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shifts.
Respects and acknowledges the organizations commitment to cultural diversity, which is expressed through behavior, language and actions.
Consistently demonstrates good use of time and resources.
Adherence to HR, & Corporate policies and procedures.
Ensures that all medical records are accurate and complete for all patients.
Ensures compliance of healthcare regulations, medical laws and high ethical standards.
Regularly adheres and supports compliance and accreditation efforts as assigned including, but not limited to OSHA, HIPAA & CMS guidelines for Parts C & D on General Compliance and Fraud, Waste & Abuse.
Performs other position related duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES OR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS
Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required.
KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | ABILITIES
Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to perform well in stressful situations.
Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR, Practice Management Solutions.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
Project Management.
Vendor relations (for those MA's that are required to order office and clinical supplies).
Database management.
Strong problem-solving skills
Skill in using computer programs and applications including Microsoft Office.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Delivers exceptional patient service throughout all interactions
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Complies with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
Requirements
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
6 months experience working within a physician's office desired. Urology experience desired.
