Review daily patient schedule and complete preparatory tasks (stock room organization, tray setup, instrument sterilization, etc.)
Escort patients from the lobby and collect dental history and intake information
Take digital X-rays using Schick sensors
Assist the dentist during exams and procedures, including documentation and teeth coding
Support a variety of treatments such as fillings, dentures, crowns, teeth whitening, and more
Participate in advanced practice dentistry beyond routine general exams
Take bite molds and impressions for night guards, crowns, and dentures (experience highly valued)
Manage a fast-paced schedule of approximately 20-30 patients per day
Occasional front desk coverage as needed (answering patient questions, prior authorizations, inventory support)

As a pivotal member of our dental team, you will be collaborating closely with our Expanded Functions Dental Assistants (EFDAs), Hygienists, and Dentists. This role is hands-on and requires a proactive approach to assist in all aspects of dental care and office efficiency. The position will require the candidate to be actively engaged in the physical setup and tear-down of operational equipment, providing patient care, and maintaining stringent hygiene standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the EFDA, Hygienist, and Dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
Provide direct support with dental procedures including preparation and management of dental instruments and supplies.
Ensure all treatment areas are fully equipped and stocked with necessary supplies and materials.
Engage and build rapport with patients, making them feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
Take dental radiographs (x-rays) as required.
Manage infection control - prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
Provide patients with follow-up care instructions after dental treatment.
Assist with front office tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations throughout the dental office.
Participate in the training of new staff and contribute to team meetings and activities.
Maintain patient dental records; update records and document treatments.
Handle sensitive and confidential patient information responsibly.
Contribute to the overall success of the dental office by providing excellent customer service and fostering a pleasant work environment.
Requirements
Current Dental Assistant certification as per state regulations.
Active CPR certification.
Qualified in Radiology and able to produce high-quality dental radiographs.
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant; minimum of 2 years preferred.
Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact effectively with both patients and team members.
Meticulous organizational skills.
Capability to work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
