The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) assists in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients by performance of routine and delegated duties per standards and policies. Essential Functions
* Assist and anticipate needs of the dentist and anesthesia provider as it relates to instruments, sutures, sponges and supplies per technique, procedure and special requirements.
* Prepare for dental surgical cases by: Picking supplies and equipment for the procedure; Ensuring that all necessary supplies and equipment are available; Maintaining inventory and stock room.
* Familiar with procedures performed.
* Know and understand dentist preferences.
* Provide care based on the age-related needs of the pediatric and adolescent patient, with consideration of their developmental/psychosocial needs, environmental safety, educational needs, communication style, and level of understanding.
* Assist with patient transfer from bed to gurney.
* Decontaminates and maintains all equipment, instruments, supplies and cleans surgical rooms between cases and at the end of the schedule as directed by procedure and the RN assigned to the room.
* Follows the surgery center's manufacturer's, and CDC guidelines for decontamination and sterilization.
* Takes x-rays.
* Clean and check x-ray equipment.
* Mixes cement and other materials as required.
* Handles suction hand-pieces and air/water syringes.
* Assures delivery of all specimens to the RN Circulator in the room.
* Stocks and cleans rooms between cases and at the end of schedule.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives. Key Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures while helping patients feel comfortable
Set up and breakdown operatory post treatment
Take dental radiographs (x-rays)
Manage infection control by preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
Provide patients with follow-up instructions following all dental treatment procedures
Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health

Our brand new dental office in Raytown, Missouri is looking for a competent and AMAZING PERSON to become a team member at our office. Although we prefer someone who has some dental assisting experience, it is not necessary! We will train the right person! We want to fill the dental assistant position for Full Time in Raytown, MO. Spanish is preferred but not required.
Compensation: $11 - $20 per hour plus potential for results based on incentives. Pay depends on experience! Some evenings and Saturdays are required. You'll help ensure excellent patient care and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist's shoulders. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible. Will train if you are the right person.
Assistants work in 6 hour shifts. These shifts are either in the morning from 7:30am to 1:30pm or in the afternoon from 1:30pm to 7:30pm. We are open to motivated dental assistants who want to work 12 hour shifts as well. Availability for afternoon and Saturday shifts are a must.
Responsibilities and Duties
Welcome patients in the dental office
Assist the dentist with procedures through 4-handed dentistry
Take X-rays
Write detailed notes describing patient appointments
Sealant placement
Coronal polishing
Prepare patients for treatment and/or exam ensuring their comfort
Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed for dental procedures
Sterilize instruments according to OSHA regulations
Undertake dental lab tasks as instructed
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Keep the dental rooms/operatories clean and well-stocked

Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
Qualification and Skills
Bi-lingual (preferred)
Previous job experience is a plus
