What You'll Do:
Work directly with the Prosthodontist to assist in advanced dental procedures, particularly dental implant treatments
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment, ensuring strict infection control standards
Provide chair-side assistance during procedures, anticipate the dentist's needs, and keep the treatment area clear and organized
Make patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit
Take dental x-rays, process radiographs, and assist with radiographic imaging
Prepare materials for impressions and restorations
Educate patients on post-operative care and general oral hygiene
Support the prosthetic team with inventory management, lab coordination, and recordkeeping
Perform office tasks as needed, such as scheduling appointments, receiving patients, maintaining records, and ordering supplies
Collaborate with other clinical staff, including oral surgeons, hygienists, and Patient Education Consultants to ensure exceptional care
Assist in specialized areas such as oral surgery, periodontics, and prosthodontics
Skills and Experience We're Looking For:
Valid certifications that meet applicable state requirements
2+ years of previous experience in a dental assisting role
Prior experience with dental implants or prosthodontics is highly desirable
Strong manual dexterity and ability to handle dental instruments with precision
Ability to remain calm under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and patient care skills
Comfortable with radiographic equipment and digital dental technology

The Expanded Duties Dental Assistant will be responsible for assisting the dentist, setting up equipment, preparing patients for treatment, and completing patient records; placing and finishing permanent restorations, and completing preliminary impressions.
Responsibilities
Personally contribute to a culture that delivers an exceptional patient experience for every patient, every time.
Delivers clinically excellent dental care through education and quality treatment. Assists dentists and hygienists in quality diagnosis through X-rays, verbal communication, and other dental tests as directed.
Helps ensure efficient operations by seeking patient referrals, maintaining equipment, utilizing supplies cost-effectively, and posting patient charges accurately.
Follows CDC and OSHA guidelines for safety and infection control.
Completes all clinical notes according to practice guidelines before dismissing the patient.
Prepares treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols. Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area; positioning instruments for the dentist's access; suctioning; and passing instruments.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Places and finishes permanent restorations, complete preliminary impressions.
Promotes a "team first" attitude by demonstrating positive and caring relationships and communication with coworkers.
Qualifications

Role Overview:
The dental assistant (surgical assistant) at Nuvia Dental Implant Center plays a crucial role in assisting our surgeons and restorative dentists so they can focus on giving our patients a premium service that is safe and memorable.
