ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Anticipate and provide to Dental Providers all necessary chair side assistance using four-handed dentistry technique (as specified in the Dental Assistant Manual) with procedures in categories as required: Diagnostic, Preventative, Restorative, Endodontics, Periodontics, Oral Surgery, Prosthodontic, Orthodontics and other services allowed by the Washington Dental Practice Act.
Identify and categorize each patient's age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, adolescents, and geriatric patients
You must escort each patient to and from the treatment rooms. Greet, seat, and depart patients, being courteous and professional at all times, especially when talking to patients or discussing confidential information.
You are responsible for communicating provider delays and delays in patient flow to the front desk staff as well as the patient.
Provide patient education and instructions to patients before, after, and during any dental procedure.
Participate in scheduling appointments arriving, and departing patients in Dentrix and registering patient in Allscripts PM.
Have the ability to complete thorough, accurate charting in Dentrix using S.O.A.P. or P.A.R.T.S. format.
Obtain accurate blood pressure readings and other vital signs as directed by Dental Provider.
Maintain proper sterilization methods and OSHA regulations in all clinic areas including treatment rooms and the sterilization areas.

Perform the responsibilities outlined in the “Task & Duty List” (Dental Department Policy) or outlined by the supervisor or Regional Dental Manager.
Participate in the Quality Improvement Activities of the Dental Department and of Sea Mar Community Health Centers (assigned by Dental Assistant III or the Dental Supervisor\ Regional Manager).
Assist patients, both private pay and with insurance, by providing treatment plans and cost estimates and sequencing of treatments. Complete insurance pre-authorizations; verify patient eligibility and benefits as directed by Dental Assistant III, Dentist, Dental Supervisor or Regional Dental Manager.
Maintain proper records for: Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), spore tests, inventory and ordering of dental supplies, maintenance of equipment and complete inventory lists, checking and maintaining of the N2o and O2 cylinders, and, in standalone dental sites, updating the Emergency Kit Log.
Assist the Dental Assistant III and the Dental Supervisor or Regional Dental Manager, in coordinating the training of new employees and/or dental trainees.
Responsible to work on specific clinical or administrative duties assigned and approved by the Dental Supervisor, Clinic Manager, Regional Dental Manager or Management.
The duties and responsibilities for this position may vary with changes occurring in the clinic activities or requirements. The supervisor or Regional Dental Manager may assign temporary work in other departments or other dental sites.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Experience & Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support the orthodontic assisting team to ensure efficient, high-quality clinical operations
Assist orthodontists chairside during treatment procedures (including appliances, wires, and aligner care)
Prepare operatories, instruments, and materials for patient care
Train, mentor, and evaluate orthodontic assistants and support staff on clinical protocols and patient interaction
Monitor and maintain clinical inventory and supplies
Ensure compliance with sterilization, infection control, and safety standards
Assist with patient education on oral hygiene and appliance care

Previous orthodontic assisting experience required; leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
Certification or registration as required by state law (e.g., RDA, Orthodontic Assistant certification, or equivalent)
Strong clinical knowledge of orthodontic procedures, appliances, and patient care protocols
Excellent communication, organizational, and team leadership skills

The Role
The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist is responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient clinic operation. You will support clinic providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care, clinic maintenance, front office responsibilities and maintain communication with other Ideal Option departments.
Additional Responsibilities Include
• Checks patients in for their appointments
• Confirms and updates patient's demographics.
• Obtains release of medical records from the patient.
• Collects co-pays from the patient and makes nightly deposits at the bank.
• Obtains vital signs and breathalyzers from the patient.
• Collects urine samples and prepares for laboratory testing.
• Witnesses' patients for observed dosing and observed urine.
• Performs skin assessments.
• May draw patient blood samples.
• Maintains cleanliness of the clinic.
• Orders cleaning supplies as needed by the clinic.

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a plasma donor screener and perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations.
How you will contribute:
· You will answer phones, and greet and focus on our donors, while ensuring the safety of donors and our team.
· You will screen new and repeat donors and take and record donor vital signs and finger stick results.
· You will use our Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.
· You will help identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company approved procedures.

The private PMR Clinic that you will support in this position provides primary and occupational care to the employees and families of one of PMR's clients. The clinic is open Monday through Friday (no weekend shifts/rotations!) and closed on holidays. Medical assistants, phlebotomists, and EMT's are welcome to apply for this PRN position. Employees will receive all necessary site-specific training, ongoing support, and medical direction directly from PMR Healthcare.
Job Responsibilities
Patient Hospitality: Warmly greet patients, manage check-ins and check-outs, and handle inquiries both in person and over the phone.
Scheduling & Communication: Professionally answer the phone and emails following PMR policy to schedule patients, follow-up on specialist appointments, or referral inquiries.
Patient Preparation: Welcome patients, check them in/out of appointments, and complete patient intake
Support Patient Care: Assist providers during examinations; prepare laboratory specimens; perform Point of Care tests; administer and dispense medications; call prescriptions to pharmacies; perform venipunctures, spirometry tests, EKG, and Visual Acuity; etc. as needed.
Clinic Preparation: Maintain a safe, clean work environment; refreshing and preparing exam rooms between visits and following procedures for inventory control.
Documentation: Complete documentation specified by PMR with the EMR.
Update Professional Knowledge: Maintain all required certification(s).
Hiring Requirements
