What you will be doing:
Perform timely setup and breakdown of all operatory equipment and instruments, and documents in line with regulatory and compliance requirements and to keep the doctor on schedule with daily patient care.
Greet patients and escort them to the operatory to begin preparation for treatment. Review patient health histories and document all medications, medical conditions. Alert the doctor to any abnormalities.

Take and develop x-rays, CBCTs, and radiographs to upload into patient charts.
Schedule appointments and update records as needed.
Promote an atmosphere supportive of good dental and general health by demonstrating good oral hygiene and instructing patients in proper techniques of flossing and brushing or other postoperative care.
Understand and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, CDC requirements and regulations.
Record treatment information in patient records via office dental software (Fuse).
Present treatment options to patient based on Doctor's recommendations.
Take impressions and Bite registrations to fabricate temporary prosthetics.
Assist dentist in management of medical or dental emergencies that may arise during their visit.
Participate in team huddles, daily.
Provide postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist.
Maintain a sterile and safe working environment according to current infection control regulations.
Keep dental operatories organized and stocked in accordance with office procedures. Order additional supplies as necessary.
Sterilize all instruments, handpieces, and treatment rooms according to OSHA regulations.
Promptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory cases.
What you will need:
High school graduate (or GED).
1 (one) year of Dental Assistant experience preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
Possess knowledge of dental health subjects and dental terminology.
Licensed Dental Assistant preferred.

Schedule
Full-time, Monday-Friday
Typical hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (some flexibility)
On-site role at our Catskill, NY office
Your Role
Provide chairside assistance to dentists during exams and procedures
Take dental X-rays and support the hygiene team
Prepare patients for treatment and help them feel comfortable
Maintain clean, organized operatories and ensure sterilization protocols are followed
Help manage supplies and assist with basic front office tasks
Engage with children and families in a friendly, reassuring manner
What We're Looking For
1+ year of dental or orthodontic assisting experience, or RDA certification
X-ray license preferred
Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus
High school diploma or equivalent required
Excellent communication skills and a calm, caring presence with children
Team-oriented and dependable
Local candidates preferred, but relocation to Malone is welcome
