DENTAL TREATMENT

* Will properly handle and dispose of all dental materials including sharps.
* Will check the eye wash stations once per month and maintain a log with results.
* Will properly maintain emergency kit/equipment and keep a log with results.
* Will keep lab area clean and organized.
* Will pour models, polish acrylic lab work under the direct supervision of the dentist.
* Will observe proper infection control procedures in the lab and sterilization areas.
* Will complete lab prescriptions and alert the front desk staff of a pending lab case.
DEMONSTRATE AND WORK WITH DENTAL ASSISTING STUDENTS AND OUTREACH
* At the discretion of the dental supervisor and under their supervision, demonstrate the use of dental material and/or techniques to dental assisting students.

Job Description
Job Title: MA / Phlebotomist
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Duties & Responsibilities:
Verify patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight and temperature; reporting patient history summary.
Secure patient information and maintains patient confidentiality
Counsel patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions
Schedule appointments; verify times with patients; prepare charts, pre-admission and consent forms.
Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
Arrange daily activities based on urgency of requests for fluid samples
Identify patients and their personal information using their ID, documents or other means
Determine the right venipuncture method based on patient age, health etc.
Reassure patients and help them relax
Find veins that are suitable for puncture
Draw blood using sterilized needles, vials and other equipment
Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples
Label samples correctly and send or deliver them for testing
Answer patient questions and provide useful information
Keep accurate records on fluid specimens and tests
Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards while working
Required Skills, Experience and Education:
Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
The ability to administer injections
MA or Phlebotomist certification is preferred
Proven experience as a Phlebotomist or Phlebotomy Technician
Experience with effective puncture techniques
Understanding of proper patient identification methods
Knowledge of legal requirements about drawing blood, handling fluid samples and use of relevant medical equipment and material
Ability to use computers to enter information
Excellent communication skills
Attention to detail
Ability to connect with patients and make them feel comfortable
Patience and presence of mind
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
May require prolonged period of standing, walking and bending
Ability to move/lift up to 20 pounds at times
Must be able to move/assist with moving patients

Salary: Up to $21.00 per hour (negotiable based on experience)
