The position dedicates over 90% of the time to performing chair side dentalassisting duties with occasional administrative and operational support in the absence of auxiliary supervisory staff. Strong interpersonal skills are required to assist in the day to day management of clinical personnel in the absence of the Office Manager or other higher level supervisory personnel. Familiarity with organization and department protocols and procedures, dental materials and supplies, and an above average level of technical chair side competence are a must. The position also requires the ability to assess changing departmental conditions /resources and to be able to initiate actions which assure that patient care and operational demands are addressed in a timely manner. Community outreach position requires performing assignments related to supporting offsite projects. Strong organizational skills are required to accurately and religiously maintain inventory and program records; develop, coordinate, and update schedules; and plan activities. Communication and computer skills will be useful to develop audience appropriate materials and conduct presentations before large groups when requested by the Dental Director.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1. Minimum two year full time experience as a clinical assistant
2. High school diploma or equivalent
3. Work behavior (in- house applicants) that demonstrates clinical proficiency, team/leadership support, and responsible job performance may be
substituted for one year of experience (Approval by Dental Director required)
4. Familiarity with electronic dental software; Dentrix Enterprise preferred.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a DentalAssistant - Prosth. The Prosthodontist DentalAssistant works under a dentist's supervision to prepare equipment that will be used in dentistry procedures, to ready patients for these procedures, and to help the dentist during these procedures by passing instruments, holding the suction catheter in place, and generally anticipating the dentist's needs. Responsibilities:

Support and assist the hygienist as needed, including but not limited to cleaning trays, room setups and cleanups.
Help track the inventory of the prosthetic supplies and keep the storage closet organized.
Support the radiographic needs of the Patient Education Consultants, Oral Surgeon, & Hygienists.
Working Conditions:
Dentalassistants work in a well-lighted, clean environment.
Work area is usually near the dental chair to allow for arranging instruments, materials, and medication and handing them to the dentist when needed.
Dentalassistants must wear gloves, masks, eyewear, and protective clothing to protect themselves and their patients from infectious diseases.
Follow safety procedures to minimize the risks associated with the use of x-ray machines.

Attention all DentalAssistants, we are calling on you to partner with us to complete dental exams, treatment, and X-rays to our Military Service members.
We will primarily work weekends, with some occasional weekdays in the State of Hawaii on an "as needed basis".
We provide health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the following:
U.S. Army Reserve (USAR)
Army National Guard (ARNG)
U.S. Navy Reserve (USNR)
U.S. Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES)
U.S. Coast Guard Reserve (USCGR)
Air National Guard (ANG)
U.S. Air Force Reserve (USAFR)
Responsibilities:
Provide dental services in a mobile environment.
Provide Digital x-Rays (BW & PANO).
Provide sterilization of instruments.
Requirements:
Active DentalAssistant Certification in the state (CDA, RDA, EDDA, EFDA)
Active Radiology Certification
CPR/BLS Certification
Comfortable with 4-handed chair-side assisting
Experience with sterilization
Experience with basic administrative functions
Experience working with military - preferred
Proficient with computer programs
Must have weekend availability
