Our team of dentalhygienists perform a variety of preventative dental procedures as well as educate patients on oral hygiene. From routine cleanings to oral health education, you'll be instrumental in helping our patients achieve and maintain their best smiles. In addition to technical duties, the dentalhygienist will play an important role in teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene techniques and offer counseling regarding good nutrition and its impact on oral health.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
Provide oral hygiene services including thorough and gentle prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, polish restorations, and application of cavity preventative agents such as fluorides and sealant applications
Accurately chart a review of patient dental history and update as necessary, patient's periodontal health, record provided treatment, and handle patient records securely and in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Provide assistance as directed by the dentist
Administer local anesthetics, if allowed by dental practice act

Responsibilities
The DentalHygienist will provide general dental hygiene services to the residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and long term care facilities within an assigned territory.
Essential Functions:
Provides routine dental cleanings.
Conducts x-ray utilizing a digital x-ray unit.
Adheres to OSHA guidelines regarding patient care, disposal of materials, and sterilization of equipment on a daily basis.
Enters patient information and completes required clinical documentation in our cutting-edge EMR system.
Mobile model treatment of patients requires daily travel to skilled nursing facilities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
RDH
State professional license
Valid driver's license
Dental hygiene background with proficiency in the assessment, treatment, management and evaluation of dental hygiene.
Ability to work independently on a daily basis.
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to use email, the internet and to learn other healthcare related software.

Preferred Qualifications
Competent computer skills using a PC and EHR.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Current knowledge of dental terminology, dental instruments, and materials.
Physical Requirements
Job requires repetitively lifting light weight objects where frequent bending or stooping alternates with lighter activities.
Work Environment
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
Licenses/Certifications
* Dental Hygiene License.
* Local anesthesia license.
* State of Michigan Radiology Certification or comparable.
* BLS Certificate.
* Glucometer trained, a plus.
