Under the direction of the Chief of Dental Services, or designee, the Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing dental hygiene services to CIFC Health Dental patients at CIFC Health sites, including, but not limited to: our Dental Headquarters, the CIFC Health Mobile Dental Van, and CIFC Health school-based health center sites.
Ø Performs all dental hygiene activities according to the States Dental Practice Act. (e.g. dental prophylaxis, topical fluorides and sealants to appropriate patients.)
Ø Performs dental screenings on mobile van
Ø Reviews and updates dental history during periodic visits.
Ø Provides patient education to increase awareness regarding dental hygiene and home maintenance.
Ø Confirms hygiene appointments for the following day as time permits.
Ø Backs up the Dental Assistant and Receptionist when time permits.
Ø Takes patients as needed who cannot get on the schedule with other providers.
Ø Performs other related duties as assigned.
