The Surgical Dental Assistant supports the oral surgeon or dentist during surgical and complex dental procedures. This role involves preparing the operatory, assisting chairside during surgeries, maintaining surgical instruments, ensuring infection control, and providing compassionate care to patients before, during, and after procedures. Key Responsibilities Clinical Assistance Prepare treatment rooms and surgical trays for procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are sterilized and organized. Assist the oral surgeon or dentist during procedures such as extractions, implant placements, bone grafts, and other surgical treatments. Maintain proper field isolation and suction, anticipate surgeon needs, and ensure efficient workflow. Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) and 3D scans as required. Apply knowledge of sterile technique and infection control protocols at all times. Patient Care Greet, prepare, and comfort patients before surgical procedures. Provide pre- and post-operative instructions clearly and compassionately. Monitor patients during and after surgery for signs of discomfort or distress.
