Minimum Qualifications
Current dentalhygienist license in Florida and an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene (where required)

Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays and electronic medical record systems

Interventional Cardiology Opening in Jacksonville, Florida Metro - Interventionalist w/ heavy peripheral skills or interest NO structural We have a tremendous volume of patients and the doctors who join our group will become busy right away. Seven year old group. It is a private practice is a single specialty cardiology and peripheral vascular disease practice. There are five physicians in the group four interventionalist and one electrophysiologist . The practice located in Jacksonville across the street from the Hospital.
The office has an abundance of exam rooms, well-trained medical assistants, five ARNP s. Full ancillary services including nuclear medicine including cardiac PET, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, pacer checks, remote and holter monitoring etc. We have registered techs (RVT and RDMS) and have a very busy venous program including laser and radiofrequency ablations and sclerotherepy, etc.
The lab is busy with peripheral vascular and coronary diagnostic angiograms. The peripheral cases include many complex peripheral interventional cases. Including laser atherectomy, rotoblator, angio jet, etc. The peripheral vascular is well established with a diverse referral base. Importantly the more experienced operators work alongside and help new peripheral interventionalists gain the experience and exposure to the complex cases at the office based lab.
HOSPITAL the office is located across the street from Hospital, an approximately 450 bed hospital. This hospital has 6 labs, 4 cardiac and Peripheral, one or two full time EP labs and a hybrid room that can do routine coronary and PV, EP WACHMAN, lead extraction, latest ablations and has a structural program including TAVR.
The practice maintains several sub offices. Ordinarily, there may be one or two days per month to a sub office for clinic. The clinics are not far away and the entire day will be spent there with no other duties. The area that almost all doctors live in is actually in the middle of this area and you are equidistant to all offices from your home.
Call rotation for STEMI is most often for established group patients mostly and once per month or so it may coincide with the hospital STEMI call. The group is on call rotation (1:4 or 5). We have about 25-35 patients in the hospital every day to consult or round and this number will grow. We have ARNP s to assist.
The hospital rounding rotates to the on call dr The group admits 99% of the patients through the hospitalists or PCP s and our cardiologists only are consulting. After you leave for the eve, usually phone calls only except interventionalist respond to STEMI or cold legs.
The volume of this practice is high, the referrals come from over 100 referral sources and there is a very large population of established patients in the group. You will enter a very busy practice. There will be some general cardiology for everyone in the group, but the EP and interventionalists will be an extremely busy with PV and coronary cases. The structural program is growing, but this is not a high volume structural position.

What You'll Contribute & Key Skills:
Preparation of all operatories including, but not limited to, set-up, decontamination, sterilization of all instruments, cleaning and restocking. This includes cleaning of hand pieces, vacuum traps, and sharp instruments.
Maintains the cleanliness of the lab and sterilization.
Changes all chemical solutions, i.e., disinfectant soaks and sprays, sterilant, ultrasonic.
Ensures lights, units, oxygen equipment and automatic processors are turned on prior to the first patient.
Provides customer service support to patients by escorting them to and from the operatory and prepping them for care by the doctor.
Reviews patient's medical history, progress from the previous visit, if applicable, and the scheduled treatment plan with each patient.
Takes all x-rays, including CBCT, panoramic, and periapical.
Takes impressions for diagnostic and opposing models and pours up models in stone.
Assists the doctor by passing instruments, aspirating intra-oral fluids, mixing materials and medicaments during examinations or treatment.
Removes post-extraction and dressings
Pours and trims study models.
Records treatment information on the patient's chart, including treatment rendered, the type of treatment planned and the amount of chair time, doctor time and assistant time needed for the next visit.
Schedules patient appointments as needed for follow up and post op.
Maintains patient confidentiality and takes every precaution to secure Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA.
Helps administer oxygen and IV sedation to patients as applicable.
Provides instructions to patients as well as post op instructions for extractions and surgery.
Reviews the schedule and makes sure lab cases are sent out, checked in and inspected and present at the patient's appointment.
Skilled in the use of standard surgical office equipment including: Autoclave, statim, model trimmer, Panoramic/CBCT, oxygen, laser, intra oral camera, hand pieces and education to patient.
Ability to take blood pressure.
Take radiographs, including CBCT, Pano and PA's.
What You Need:
Graduate of accredited Surgical Assisting program
Two years of Surgical Assisting experience required
CPR & First Aid Certified
