Reviewing patient charts and understanding health history prior to treatment
Greeting and engaging patients, explaining treatment, and answering questions
Providing clinical care, including five screenings, gathering records, and educating patients on oral health conditions and treatment plans
Scheduling recall and restorative appointments
Documenting patient updates and ensuring accurate records
Maintaining infection control protocols, operatory cleanliness, and instrument sterilization
Expanding clinical skills through ongoing training and continuing education
Registered DentalHygienist Background Profile:
Current Registered DentalHygienist (RDH) license
Laser Certification
Local Anesthetic Certification
Experience with Carestack and SOTA Cloud preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
Experience with dental practice management software is a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs routine dental care within scope of practice for participants as stipulated in the participants care plan. This can include but is not limited to: cleaning teeth and gums, screening for oral disease such as gingivitis and oral cancer, arresting dental decay with cavity-preventing agents and administering dental prophylaxis as needed
Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques and making recommendations to manager
Provides thorough education to participants about good oral hygiene, plaque control and post-operative instructions
Prepares and maintains treatment areas by adhere to all prescribed procedures, protocols and regulations
Accurately documents participant dental hygiene services in the electronic health record and maintains strict confidentiality of participant information as required of HIPAA
Maintains a professional, but soothing atmosphere for participants who might be frightened or uncomfortable with dental procedures
Performs as part of the inter-disciplinary team, as needed or required
Assists with Utilization Management, pre-authorization and service requests from contracted providers
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Associates degree in dental hygiene and active dentalhygienist license registered and is in good standing with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) required
3-5 years of experience working as a DentalHygienist required
1 year of working with the frail or elderly required
CPR/BLS certification required
