As a Lead DentalHygienist at Tend, you'll do more than deliver top-tier preventive care - you'll also set the standard for hygiene excellence in your studio. What You'll Do
Deliver comprehensive preventive and periodontal care - including prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing (SRP), gingivitis scaling, oral cancer screenings, Itero scans, sealants, Zoom whitening, Perio Protect, Curodont, fluoride treatments, and patient education - all in alignment with evidence-based clinical guidelines
Provide leadership and mentorship to hygienists and hygiene assistants, setting expectations, coaching performance, and ensuring adherence to Tend's clinical standards
Collaborate with dental assistants to optimize studio-wide hygiene flow, sterilization protocols, and room turnover efficiency
Partner with dentists on exams and treatment planning, reinforcing comprehensive care and seamless handoffs for patients

Your Responsibilities:
Assist periodontist with all surgical procedures including implant placement, bone grafts, and tissue grafts
Prepare and sterilize instruments and surgical setups according to OSHA and infection control protocols
Record treatment notes and patient chart updates
Take and process digital radiographs, CBCT scans, and iTero scans (training available)
Monitor patient vitals and ensure comfort during sedation procedures
Educate patients on post-op instructions and long-term periodontal care
Maintain operatory readiness and manage surgical inventory
Provide an excellent chairside experience from consult to post-op recovery
What We're Looking For:
Minimum 1 year of surgical or periodontal assisting experience
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Completion of a certified dental assisting program (preferred)
Valid NYS radiology certification and CPR certification (required)
Professional, calm demeanor with a passion for patient care
Strong organizational and time-management skills in a busy clinical environment
