Provides necessary information in the form of x-rays, verbal communication, and other dental tests in coordination with dentists to assist with diagnosing dental treatment.
Performs comfortable periodontal evaluation, general scaling, scaling, and root planning for all patients.
Completes all clinical notes according to practice guidelines before dismissing patients.

Acting to ensure proper infection control, clinic policies, and processes are followed. 7. Assisting in the tracking of clinic procedures through maintaining and/or entering data. 8. Adhering to standards set by OSHA , HIPAA , FERPA , CODA and other standards set by the department. 9. Participating and contributing in committees and discussions regarding clinic operations, materials, protocols, and/or quality assurance. Excellent human relations and effective communication skills also required. * Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department. Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment before, during, and after procedures.
Escort each patient to the operatory in a timely manner
Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after treatment
Assist in preparing patients for surgery and help monitor vital signs and anesthesia levels
Confirm with medical history with patient and make any necessary changes needed
Confirm the patient is aware of and educated on the treatment being performed
Assist the oral surgeon by passing instruments, suctioning, and providing any necessary materials during surgery.
Accurately document patient information and surgical details into the patient's electronic health record (EHR).
Assist with post-operative care instructions and ensure proper follow-up.
Stock all operatories and designated sterilization area(s).
Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner.
Take X-rays as needed or instructed after reviewing case notes or dental referral
Regular attendance of continuing education courses
Assist in daily and monthly maintenance of all sterilization equipment, hand pieces, hand piece motors, suction, traps and x-ray/sensors units
Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedules and office policies.
