POSITION SUMMARY
The Dentist provides appropriate dental care to the patients of Christ Community Health Services and is responsible for marketing the services of the Dental Clinics to the communities served. The Dentist is responsible for the staffing and management of the Dental Clinic.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assesses and diagnoses problems of the teeth and tissues of the mouth.
2. Removes decay and fills cavities; examines x-rays; applies sealants; straightens teeth; repairs fractured teeth; extracts teeth and makes molds for dentures; and performs corrective surgery.
3. Instructs patients on proper diet, brushing, flossing and other aspects of preventive dental care.
4. Determines necessary dental equipment and supplies for the Dental Clinic and ensures they are purchased.
5. Hires, trains, and supervises dental hygienists, dental assistants, dental laboratory technicians, and other employees, as needed.
6. Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records of Dental Clinic patients as per CCHS policies and regulatory requirements.
7. Works actively with other CCHS providers to improve the overall health of the communities served.
8. Performs other duties as required.
