Administrative Functions:
1. Coordinate the preparation of reports and written documentation as required by the department, company and State and Federal agencies.

4. Willingness to be on-call, as scheduled, by the Dental Director/ Assistant Dental Director.
5. Willingness to assist Clinic Manager/Dental Manager in supervising the dental staff and assuring that clinic is compliant with State and Federal guidelines.
6. Meet productivity goals, as set by the Borrego Health organization and assist the Clinic Manager work with dental staff to accomplish that goal.
7. Maintain a professional demeanor with patients, staff and administration.
8. Perform other tasks, as directed by the Dental Director/ Assistant Dental Director, as needed to meet clinic or organization goals.
9. Supervise Dental Assistants with whom he/she works.
10. Understand the organization's commitment to provide high quality patient care. Promote a patient-centered environment

Clinical Functions:
1. Examine and diagnose and treat dental conditions to provide optimum care to patients.
2. Consult with the patient/parent/guardian and advise them of dental status and required treatment.
3. Educate patients regarding oral conditions, provide treatment options and explain to the patient/parent/guardian the risks, benefits and alternatives of each option.
4. Treat dental conditions for patients of all ages, and if unable to provide a particular service, to a patient, provide the patient with the appropriate specialty referral. Board certified/qualified Periodontists are exempted from treating adult patients.
5. Treats soft/ hard tissues diseases of the oral cavity; perform surgery on oral tissues when necessary; render prosthetic treatment, when indicated; design and place orthodontic appliances for interceptive orthodontics.
6. Provide quality care to the patients of Borrego Health, within the scope of practice outlined by state and/or federal law.
7. Deliver care in accordance with established standards of care and accepted community standards
Education/Experience:
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from a dental program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
A state license to practice dentistry

JOB SUMMARY: The incumbent is responsible for performing all functions of the position. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides dental consultation to other tribal/state agencies, educational institutions, state health department programs, county health departments, and professional organizations, and establishes and maintains official working relationships.
Examine, diagnose and treat oral diseases.
Perform oral treatments including root canals, extractions, and fixing and removable prosthetics.
Work with clinical staff to provide quality patient treatments.
Educate patients on preventive dental care and oral health care.
Design and fix prosthodontic appliances including bridges, partial dentures, complete dentures, and space maintainers.
Treat teeth malformations, gum injuries, and other oral abnormalities.
Use dental instruments safely to avoid accidents.
Operate x-rays and diagnostic equipment effectively to examine teeth and gums.
Ensure that the work area is maintained safe, clean, and organized.
Follow standard dentistry procedures and comply with company policies.
Evaluate patient's dental health and prescribe medications.
Refer patients to appropriate specialists when needed.
Recording of patient's progress, procedures, and other dental/health matters.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Perform other duties and projects as required by management.
Stay abreast with the latest developments and techniques in the dental field.

Timely completion of continuing education required by state licensing requirements
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
