Job Description:This position provides therapy services to patients of all ages, including evaluation and assessment, treatment, education, and consultation to improve patients' abilities to their highest possible level. This position provides services as part of a care team assembled to assure optimal clinical and financial outcomes, under the direction of Essentia Health management and the referring physician. Education Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy from accredited program
Key Responsibilities:
Provide therapy evaluation, develop individualized treatment plans, implement evidence-based interventions, provide patient/caregiver education, and discharge planning for a full patient caseload.
Provide all ancillary/administrative requirements for a full caseload of patients, including documentation, billing, scheduling management, and other administrative duties
Demonstrate appropriate communication, professionalism and supervision of support staff (licensed assistants, aides, volunteers)
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure optimal clinical and financial outcomes.
Work closely with Essentia Health leadership and coordinate with referring physicians to ensure cohesive patient care.
Comply with organizational policies and procedures and the code of conduct
Meet professional organization core values, code of ethics, &/or scope of practice
Work where the patient need is highest (including flexing to other departments) when home department schedule allows
May serve as a clinical instructor, participate in department or therapy discipline committees, and complete credential/certification that would benefit patient care
Schedule will generally be Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm. Weekend rotation of every 4-8 weeks. Holiday rotation required.

Serve as a liaison for Spectra Health in outside agencies.
Attends conferences and meetings of dental importance whenever possible.
Participate as a team member and serves on committees as assigned.
Assists in development of quality improvement monitors and documents required quality improvement monitoring data and reports on results.
Seeks professional continuing education in order to improve or maintain knowledge, skills and abilities in order to provide efficient, effective and appropriate dental care to patients.
Follows all applicable National Patient Safety Goals in the provision of patient care.
Safeguards all patients' health information whether written, verbal, and electronic with privacy and confidentiality. Follow HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures.
Oversees ordering of equipment and supplies
Assists with IT issues if applicable (computers and Dentrix)
Assist with hiring of new dental staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Certified Provider with valid licenses in jurisdiction of the clinic.
CPR/BLS certification is required or must be obtained within six (6) weeks of employment.
Preferred:
Computer skills required.
Ability to diagnose and treat dental and oral disease.
Working knowledge of the principles, standard practices methods and techniques of dentistry.
Knowledge of preventative dentistry and educational methodologies utilized in prevention.
Skill in oral operative techniques and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff.
Exhibit cultural sensitivity.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook. Ability to work on local desktop and in remote desktop sessions. Basic computer hardware knowledge.
Ability to gain proficiency in SPECTRA HEALTH's organizational software programs including but not limited to the electronic medical or dental records, practice management systems, QuickBooks, and multiple web-site accounts.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The Dentist is a working dental provider. This position requires long periods of time working in a dental operatory, sitting on stools, and leaning over patients. It requires manual dexterity of the hands, keen eyesight, and the ability to communicate with patients. Periodically, the position requires lifting or carrying items that would be appropriate in an office environment, not more than 20lbs.
