Provides and manages direct patient care, including oral examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population.
Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed oral health conditions.
Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of dental assistants or dental staff.
Trains and supervises dental students, dental assistants, or other dental staff.
Keep accurate patient records of history and activities regarding all treatment and medications.
Keep abreast of advancements in dentistry.
Comply with all applicable state/federal laws, rules, regulations and procedures.
Participates in professional development activities.
Maintains strict confidentiality.
