Why You'll Love Working Here
If you're searching for a private practice where you can truly grow, both clinically and personally, Hunsaker Dental is your dream fit. If you prefer a corporate-style environment, struggle with feedback, or aren't excited to learn and leverage new technology, this opportunity may not be for you.
This isn't a DSO-it's a private, doctor-led practice where mentorship is real and your growth is prioritized. You'll work closely with Dr. Travis Hunsaker, DDS, MAGD, FAAID, DABO/ID-a dedicated mentor and lifelong learner who's deeply invested in developing clinicians. He holds a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (earned by less than 2% of dentists), is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, making him a recognized implant specialist in Oregon. Mentorship here isn't occasional-it's built into your regular schedule, with structured time for case reviews, implant coaching, and clinical growth, led by someone who leads by example.
We're based in Salem, Oregon, a vibrant and welcoming city that offers the perfect blend of small-town charm and modern amenities. With beautiful parks, wineries, outdoor recreation, and a strong sense of community, Salem is ideal for professionals and families seeking an excellent quality of life. Our practice location makes it easy to enjoy everything the Willamette Valley has to offer, with Portland and the coast just a short drive away.
This is a place where you can do dentistry the right way, with a supportive team, loyal patients, and all the tools you need to deliver excellent care.
Our Core Values
Growth-Minded - We believe that growth is a continuous journey, not a destination. Whether it's mastering advanced procedures, embracing the latest technology, or developing leadership skills, we actively invest in becoming better every day. You'll be encouraged to challenge yourself and will be supported every step of the way as you build a career you're proud of.
Integrity & Stewardship - We do what's right, even when no one is watching, because our patients trust us to guide them with honesty and fairness-every decision-whether clinical or business-is made with the patient's best interest in mind. We see our work as a responsibility to care for people and to protect the reputation and legacy of the practice.
Fun & Positivity - Dentistry doesn't have to feel sterile or stressful. We bring energy, humor, and camaraderie into our days because we know positivity is contagious, and it makes our patients' experience better, too. We're serious about delivering great care, but we keep the atmosphere light-making it easy to look forward to coming in each day. Most of our team sticks around the office for lunch-not because they have to, but because they actually like spending time together. From regular potlucks to casual lunchtime laughs, we've built a culture where connection is genuine and showing up feels easy.
Community-Focused - Our roots in the Salem community run deep, and we believe in giving back to the people who support us. From initiatives like our Day of Free Dentistry to partnerships with local organizations, we prioritize making a positive impact beyond our doors. It's about being part of something bigger and using our skills to serve.

Mentorship That's Real - At Hunsaker Dental, mentorship is more than a promise-it's built into your daily experience. You'll have regular one-on-one time with Dr. Travis Hunsaker, where you can review patient cases together, get feedback, and work through real clinical challenges side by side. We also hold regular doctor meetings to collaborate on treatment planning and learn from each other in a supportive, team-driven environment. From shadowing advanced procedures to refining your communication skills, you'll grow faster here-with a mentor who's fully invested in helping you succeed.
Private, Family-Owned Practice - Decisions are made with patients and team members in mind, not corporate quotas. You'll have the autonomy to practice dentistry the right way, supported by a close-knit, values-driven team.
