Hope Chapel Road Jackson, New Jersey O8527 United States Responsibilities Manage dental insurance prior authorizations, ensuring they are secured at least 30 days before surgery. Notify patients of their scheduled surgery time one week prior and confirm all necessary co-pays are collected in advance. Maintain accurate scheduling using Dentrix and Vision systems, ensuring alignment across platforms. Communicate effectively with staff regarding schedule changes and cancellations, keeping detailed records of reasons. Assist in collecting medical deductibles when applicable (separate from dental benefits). Check and respond to company emails daily to ensure effective communication. Assist the orthodontist during procedures, including taking X-rays, preparing materials, and providing chairside support Ensure a clean and sterile environment by following proper infection control protocols and aseptic techniques Properly sterilizes instruments on a regular basis Assists doctor with cementation of bands and bracket placement Properly take the correct x-rays when needed on each patient Qualifications Experience working with Dentrix software is a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work closely with patients and staff. We offer a competitive pay, plus benefits! $28-$32/hr **Responsibilities** * Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols. * Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient. * Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests. * Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments. * Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth. * Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts. * Maintains patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances. * Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory. * Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions. * Documents dental care services by charting in patient records. * Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. * Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. * Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. * Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. * Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. * Other duties as assigned **Qualifications** **Required Skills:** * X-ray license for the state of NJ, required * Experience working as a Dental Assistant, or training from a formal Dental Assistant program At DCA we don't just accept differences - we celebrate them and recognize the value this brings to our patients and employees.
