A denture technician fabricates dental prosthetics to make dentures, crowns, bridges and braces for dental patients. They use plastics, ceramics, metals and other materials to create dentures for patients. They use the prescription provided by a dentist to design these dentures, being careful to factor in all the specifications indicated. A denture technician should have a working knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software to design dentures.
Denture technicians mostly work in dental laboratories, hospitals, clinics, research centers and universities.
