What You'll Do: * Provides classroom assistance in the area of language acquisition as students develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in designated subject areas. * Prepares and set-up educational materials. * Provides computer-based reading and writing instruction for students who scored below established level on standardized tests or assessments. * Assists in assessment of students' reading and writing abilities. * Coordinates instructional efforts with teachers and educational staff and assists and supports the development of lesson plans. * Presents subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers, using lectures, computer-based instruction, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods. * Assists individuals and small student groups and reinforces learning concepts presented by teachers. * Provides student performance assessment assistance for assigned subject matter, providing feedback to the student and the teacher. * Communicates (verbally and in writing) with students and parents about routine issues in their native language. * Supervises and monitors students at assigned site and reinforces positive student behaviors and student related administration policies and rules.
