SUMMARY : Assists Director of Health Services (DOHS) in providing nursing care to meet all levels of resident/patient care needs through planning, implementing, and evaluating services in accordance with the mission of Browning Masonic Community and applicable laws, regulations and standards. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must have graduated from accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) 5 or more years nursing experience 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a direct care setting Assisted Living experience required ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Assists the DOHS in performing the responsibilities that contribute to the compliance of local, state and federal regulations. 2. Communicates with the DOHS regarding Nursing Department issues through verbal reports. 3. Manages, supervises and evaluates through the performance improvement process for staff assigned. 4. Develops, coaches and supports professional/non-professional staff assigned in performance of daily operational responsibilities. Including: training and mentoring of new nursing staff. 5. Works to assure compliance with all regulatory standards and to maximize the highest quality of care for each resident by providing and assisting in the tier process. 6. Assists to maintain quality documentation in the Nursing Dept. Including but not limited to new admissions, readmissions, discharges, skilled charting and appropriate hospice charting. 7. Maintains and completes facility monthly fall and infection report as deemed appropriate. 8. Provides nursing report and clinical updates to residents and families as it relates to care conferences 9. Responsible for ensuring incident reports are completed and providing education and guidance to nursing staff in completion of such reports 10. Coordinates Infection control and prevention for the facility as the Infection Control Nurse if applicable. 11. Implements corrective counseling, suspension and termination proceedings of nursing staff in collaboration with the DOHS, as appropriate. 12. Monitors Clinical Nursing Programs using the Quality Indicators. 13. Provides budgetary information as requested. 14. Supports the DOHS in facilitating advanced study/continuing education for all nursing personnel. 15. Participates in long-range planning to meet evolving health care and organizational needs as requested. 16. Participates in facility meetings as appropriate and requested. 17. Participates in on-call rotation of nursing management for facility coverage. 18. In the absence of the DOHS, carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. 19. Adheres to all policies and procedures of the organization and all federal and state laws regarding the privacy of protected health information. 20. Other duties as assigned.
