What We're Looking For - Qualifications and Skills:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum one year's experience in customer service, sales, or retail.
At least 3 months of supervisory, key holder, or relevant leadership experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in using phones, POS system, Microsoft Office, and other computer systems.
Must be at least 18 years of age (19 in Alabama).
Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and personal vehicle to use throughout the workday (mileage compensated).

What You'll Do - Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maximize customer success by offering financial services that fit their needs.

Who You Are
The Sales Lead will support the Store Manager in overseeing store profitability and all day-to-day business operations. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive experience for our guests. Operations Accountability:

Position Overview
The General Manager is responsible for leading through Petco's vision of "Healthier Pets. Happier People. Review and interpret financial and operational reporting regularly, including Pet Care Center visits and audit results.
Identify underperforming metrics and develop strategies that leverage Petco programs, tools, and resources to improve and grow the business.
Market the Pet Care Center and its products, oversee planning of on site and community events, such as adoptions, school visits and other local promotions and animal-welfare events.
Process
Ensures the proper health, appearance, welfare, and proper handling of all animals.
Ensures merchandise is properly priced, displayed and stocked according to inventory levels appropriate for the store; make merchandising decisions with consideration of visual standards, special ad set-up and monthly ad planner guidelines, adjusting these as necessary to best implement in each individual store.
Completes and submits accounting, inventory management and payroll paperwork in a timely manner; ensures all expenses are maintained within budgeted levels.
Maintains the Pet Care Center's appearance adheres to Petco operational standards and safety procedures.
Protect Petco pets & merchandise and minimize loss by ensuring all Pet Care Center standards and operating procedures are met, including workplace safety, inventory control, and loss prevention.
Ensures Pet Care Center is opened/closed in accordance with policies and procedures, especially those relating to safety and security.
Responsible to maintain the Pet Care Center's professional image, appearance, and cleanliness.

Education and Experience
In addition to a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED), an applicant must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the areas of basic business & finance acumen, analysis and problem-solving skills, and high focus on people development & guest service.
Excellence in communication and computer skills are also required.
Three or more years of management experience or the equivalent is required, while previous retail management experience is preferred.
A working knowledge of general business practices is highly desirable, as are strong organizational skills.
A qualified applicant will possess an aptitude for demonstrating strong customer service and the ability to instruct others. In addition to having a professional appearance and demeanor, the applicant must also demonstrate a keen and genuine interest in all kinds of animals.
Must be licensed to operate a motor vehicle. Completion of specific PETCO Management Achievement Program Modules as well as internal management roles may be required for internal candidates.
Supervisory Responsibility
The General Manager directly supervises a team of leaders and is responsible for all Pet Care Center partners including services.
Work Environment
The majority of job duties are conducted indoors, although occasional merchandise stocking, customer carry-outs, and bank deposits will require that an employee leave the Pet Care Center briefly. Because this position requires bending, kneeling, moving merchandise (up to 50 pounds, as necessary) and standing for long periods of time, there may be risk of injury resulting from failure to follow safety precautions and procedures. A limited amount of travel will be required.
Contacts
This position has continuous contact with the general public at the Pet Care Center and at Pet Care Center -related events, and regular contact and exchange of information with other departments in the field, Distribution Centers, and at the Support Centers. Contact outside of PETCO may be required in order to coordinate merchandise returns, ordering parts, Pet Care Center repairs, coordination of vaccination clinics, Pet Care Center events, vendor meetings, etc.

Overview
Under the general supervision of the General Manager, the Lead Merchandise Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the team shops' product management, inventory and product displays. Their duties will include all duties for a Retail Sales Associate (including tagging products, interacting with customers, scanning items for sale, guiding customer interactions on the floor and at the door as assigned) and additional responsibilities such as overseeing receiving new product, processing returns, opening the team shops, and directing the Retail Sales Associates to their respective roles.
Our ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and deadline-driven individual with experience supervising a small to medium-size retail store. This role also requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a creative eye for presenting clothing, headwear, accessories and other game day fan gear.
The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule which includes evenings and weekends. Open availability, professional presentation and independent decision-making skills are required.
In light of the seasonal and event-driven nature of our business, the position will run from now until the end of March, with ability to return when event season begins again next Winter.

Responsibilities
Oversee the planning and implementation of merchandising strategies to deliver volume and profit goals for the Spring Training season
Create eye-catching store layouts that showcase the brand and aesthetic of the teams and company
Coach and manage a team to set up, run day-to-day operations and break down the Team Stores on a seasonal basis
Oversee the receiving of new products, pricing, ticketing, sizing and inventory
Track inventory movement and systematically introduce promotions, sales, price changes, etc.
Interpret sales reports and provide guidance on how to improve figures and customer engagement
Lift and move merchandise, including receiving and restocking merchandise, as necessary

Qualifications

We are looking for a reliable, driven, and team-oriented Selling and Service Supervisor (SSS) to join our team. As the Supervisor, you are responsible for ensuring delivery of exceptional customer service and the achievement of sales goals and key selling metrics. The Supervisor is responsible for driving sales and profit by developing the selling skills and behaviors of the Selling Specialists through training and holding associates accountable on processes, tasks, and product knowledge. You will enhance selling and service standards by creating a friendly environment, responding to customer needs directly or through other associates, resolving customer service issues, and supporting associates in delivering exceptional service. The Supervisor has overall responsibility for store sales associates, day-to-day front-line supervision, and task completion.

As The Selling and Service Supervisor, You Will:
Consistently greet customers and educate them on current promotions
Complete the markdown process in a timely manner with accuracy and according to company standards
Sign/advertise merchandise accurately according to directive and current promotions
Efficiently and accurately process sales transactions using the POS register system and adhere to checkout standards
Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires and assist them in the fitting room to ensure proper sizing, color, fit, etc.
Collaborate with store management team to organize marketing and promotional campaigns, and to coordinate staff schedules and activities
Resolve customer issues while aligning to the core values of trust, integrity, and respect
Build rapport with customers and team, resulting in repeat customers and engaged associates
Maintain sales-floor standards, including replenishment and presentation, general appearance and cleanliness of the department
Participate and support in training for new company programs, procedures, and technologies
Consistently model and coach the selling behaviors to meet or exceed key performance indicators
Adhere to Asset Protection control and compliance procedures; maintain knowledge of all Health and Safety protocols and Emergency procedures to ensure the safety of our associates and customers alike
