MDOC Adult Community Corrections Region 2, is seeking a couple of qualified candidates for Probation Officer. Region 2 provides service to the greater Skowhegan area. You must be self-motivated, resourceful, able to work as an integral part of a team, and possess excellent time management, analytical, and interpersonal skills. You will be required to carry a firearm and must complete the Maine Criminal Justice Academy's firearms qualifications program on a yearly basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, training, and/or experience in probation/parole work, counseling, case management, or law enforcement activities.
Responsibilities:
As a Probation Officer, you will
Supervise and manage clients assigned to MDOC or released to the community.
Assess clients' risks and needs.
Counsel and supervise clients while on probation or other forms of community release.
Prepare pardon, and pre-sentence investigation reports for the court.
Perform interstate compact duties and participate in the formulation and oversight of community reentry release plans.
Administrative duties include, but are not limited to, gathering, and entering data into a computer tracking system and providing various reports from this information, so that effective decisions can be made regarding delivery of service.

Preference will be given to candidates with:

The Maine CDC's Oral Health Program is seeking an Oral Health Educator to join our team in promoting and improving the oral health of all Maine people. This position will work under the direction of the Program Manager and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating oral health education and outreach initiatives for the public, healthcare providers, and community-based organizations.
This position will work across Maine CDC programs, the department, and outside partners to promote oral health education and evidence-based prevention activities, including screenings and referrals, education, etc. The position will work with established clinical partners and organizations, including primary care providers, to increase awareness and implementation of oral health screenings, within healthcare settings, as part of COVID 19 response activities for Maine CDC. Children's oral health has been impacted greatly under the pandemic, with limited access to basic check-ups and treatments.
You will also:
• Develop oral health promotional materials and public health education interventions that improve public health status.
• Oversee and develop an online resource library, educational literature, and other educational materials related to oral health, infection control and Federal CDC guidance on reducing COVID-19 exposures.
• Engage with state, local partners to assist in the development and implementation of health promotion activities and education to disseminate up to date information related to COVID-19 and other oral health related materials.
• Work with partners across the department and state to develop workforce trainings to the dental allied health professionals.
• Develop programs to collectively work with other health programs that would support the systemic oral health linkages.
• Develop and maintain up to date resource manual for non-profit dental centers within the State of Maine, educational materials on children's oral health care.
• Work with the Office of MaineCare Services on oral health related activities such as care coordination, coding, and billing.
• Work with Program Manager on budgetary needs, federal grant funding opportunities and contract Management.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelors Degree in Public Health, Community Health Education, Health Education and two (2) years experience in community or health education program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. Directly related work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred candidates will also have:
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate oral health or public health education and outreach activities for the public, healthcare providers, and community-based organizations, using evidence-based approaches;
• Proven ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and work effectively across public health programs, healthcare systems, and external partners to advance screenings, referrals, education, and prevention efforts;
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally and to build and maintain effective working relationships with healthcare organizations, and state and local partners; and
• Experience creating, adapting, or maintaining educational resources to support oral health and public health initiatives across partner settings.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This is professional services and scientific work at the biologist level involving research and management of the State's fisheries and wildlife by protecting, preserving, and enhancing Maine's natural resources. The Fisheries Biologist position provides a key support role assisting the Resource Supervisor in carrying out all activities of the Fisheries and Hatcheries Division's Regional (G) Headquarters (located in Ashland).
REPRESENTATIVE TASKS INCLUDE:
Assisting senior level resource biologists in planning and coordinating fish and wildlife assessment activities and research to support the Department's goals and objectives.
Performing research development, investigation, analysis, and monitoring of species and their habitats (e.g., physical, biological, and chemical characteristics, etc.) to support species planning and management.
Interacting and conferring with other biologists, professionals, and advocacy groups to preserve and monitor habitats and populations within assigned areas.
Establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with agencies both internal and external to state government to advocate for fish, wildlife, and ecosystem concerns.
Summarizing and assessing data using standard statistical procedures and scientific analysis to develop reports of findings and to provide recommendations to higher level Resource Biologist.
Writing environmental assessments to meet state and federal compliance and permitting requirements.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of biology, biological research, fish and wildlife conservation and management.
Knowledge of fish biology and habitat ecology and standard field and laboratory methods, along with advanced statistical data collection skills, processing techniques, and population measurement methods.
Knowledge of environmental laws, rules, and regulations.
Ability to recommend management plans, research projects, and approve or disapprove permits and licenses.
Ability to prepare and make presentations to colleagues, various stakeholder groups and the public, and the ability to confer and consult with them.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Fisheries or Wildlife Management, or related field -AND- two (2) years of progressively responsible related laboratory or field research and/or management experience. Equivalent experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.

5. Discuss your experience and role in creating and/or maintaining relationships with State/Federal/Tribal governments/agencies, outside partners, and public interest groups on fisheries related issues.
