    The 3-time WNBA Champions Los Angeles Sparks are seeking a basketball analytics intern who will contribute to the development and support of the Sparks front office and coaching staff through analytics, research, and data presentation that serve the WNBA draft preparation, the free agency process, and the 2026 WNBA season. Through game day experiences, hands-on training, and mentorship opportunities, our goal is to provide aspiring professionals with the tools they need to launch their career in sports. This intern position will report under the direction of Sparks Assistant General Manager, Research and Development. This is an unpaid internship and is for individuals who will receive college credit. Youth in guardianship who meet the qualifications listed below are also encouraged to apply. STEP is designed to introduce participants to the "world of work" by providing paid work experience, job readiness training, and individualized employment support. STEP Intern positions are available in various County departments and locations, including, but not limited to the Human Services Agency, Human Resources, Parks Department, Health System, and more. PROGRAM COMPONENTS The program focuses on three primary areas: * Job Readiness Skills Training: Training topics include understanding workplace culture, exceeding expectations, goal setting, presentation skills, business communications, and other tips to be successful on the job. * Employment Coaching and Hands-on Paid Work Experience: You will be paired with a Job Coach to receive one-to-one guidance and support. Coaches help prepare you for your new job duties by modeling and teaching appropriate behaviors and skills. After shadowing your coach, you may take on assignments of your own. These hands-on assignments vary by department and provide you with an overview of the responsibilities of a specific county position. * Transition Planning: The program offers transition planning services to prepare you for your future goals. This includes access to resources for information on colleges, training programs ,and other vocations. NOTE: This is an extra-help position, at-will assignment, paid on an hourly basis. Extra-help positions are short-term employment for up to 1040 hours. Some extra help positions are eligible for benefits under the Affordable Care Act. Candidates will have the opportunity to attend the Correctional Academy at the Stanislaus County Regional Training Center as their college schedule permits. While attending the Correctional Academy Interns will receive intensive academic instruction in Law Enforcement and Corrections procedures combined with rigorous physical fitness and defensive tactics training. Upon completion of the Corrections Academy and the minimum age of 21, interns are eligible for full-time employment as a Deputy Sheriff - Custodial Deputy. During this assignment, the incumbent will receive training in the care, custody, and control of inmates.
