Licensures and Certifications: Respiratory Care Practitioner License from the State of California is required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required. Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) certification and maintaining a current age-specific Advanced Life Support Provider certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through an American Heart Association (AHA) provider training program are required. Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) is required. Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, Emotional Support (STABLE) Program certification required, or must be obtained by the sixth month of hire.

KNOWLEDGE Current principles, methods, and techniques of respiratory therapy; chemistry of gases used in respiratory therapy and their effect on the human body; care and operation of equipment used in respiratory therapy.
