What is a deployment coordinator and how to become one

Updated January 8, 2025
3 min read

Deployment coordinators help to coordinate the release of a product and get it into the hands of clients that need it. They most often work in the tech industry and help to release software, although they can also work in finance or business.

Deployment coordinators need to have excellent project management skills in order to coordinate the administrative processes that are necessary to release a product, such as tracking licensing requirements and customer queries. They also need to have excellent customer service skills in order to help clients use the company's product. It helps if they have experience with some common technological tools, such as Sharepoint.

Some deployment coordinators are able to work their way up to this position with only a high school diploma or associate's degree and practical experience with project management. However, getting a bachelor's or even a master's degree in business or a similar field will probably make it easier for you to advance and eventually earn that average salary of $66,487 a year.
