Deployment engineer job description

The Deployment Engineer installs, migrates, upgrades, and configures hardware, and Tyler software for on-premise customers. Continued growth in ever-evolving infrastructure, Hypervisors, Server Operating Systems, and technology provides an exciting and challenging work environment.

The Deployment Engineer interacts directly with clients to meet and/or exceed stated departmental installation goals.This position is a revenue-generating position.

Responsibilities

Performs installation and upgrade services for new and existing clients according to schedule. Installs and configures databases on Microsoft SQL Server Installs and configures web servers and deploys web products to clients. Provides technical training to clients regarding software installation procedures, and more as needed. Consults with other departments during various phases of sales and implementation processes to ensure proper deployment procedures are followed, and on schedule. Documents results of service work performed for use by internal staff and customers. Position may require either travel to client sites or off-hours coverage based on customer demand.



Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or comparable work experience. Experience administering and installing applications on Windows or Linux servers. Experience installing or configuring the Microsoft SQL Server database engine. Working knowledge of server hardware and network configurations. Basic knowledge of web server technology, .NET framework, and SSL security. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced, technical environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude.

The IT Delivery Services team is responsible for deploying technology and solutions globally.

This includes installation and configuration of wired and wireless LAN-connected devices, network communications equipment, and software and peripherals for all brands and all locations.

Client interface with the business, IT, and external service providers to ensure we deliver seamless technology deployment services.

As a Senior IT Deployment Specialist, candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, deploying, and monitoring the progress of initiatives related to a rental branch, administrative, and corporate locations.

In this position, candidate will participate in gathering and/or defining business technical requirements.

Candidate will serve as the point of contact for end-users for procedural and technical escalations.

Basic to intermediate knowledge of Cisco network equipment is necessary for this role, and it is imperative for this candidate to be self-motivated, proactive, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

Required:

Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by client's company for this position now or in the future

3 plus years of related experience

2 plus years successful experience managing networks and network connectivity, including broad knowledge of TCP/IP, as well as knowledge of administering Cisco routers and switches

2 plus years experience installing and configuring wired and wireless LAN-connected hardware, network communications equipment, software, and peripherals at remote and corporate campus facilities

Provides installation assistance remotely via the telephone as well as on-site customer contact

Broad technical knowledge of client/server computing including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, SCCM, file and print servers

Experience in project management functions: defining and executing project plans, identifying resources required, establishing timelines, and monitoring assigned tasks

Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Outlook, e-mail accounts, and their relationship to Exchange Services

Experience with creating and updating technical documentation

Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects at once, while meeting deadlines and remaining calm and cool under pressure

Documents tickets according to departmental standards with an appropriate level of detail.

8+ years of experience

CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification.

Active TS/SCI and Polygraph

Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop design engineering and implementation options.

Experience with Microsoft deployment tools to include Microsoft Deployment Toolkit and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.

Experience with engineering and deploying client software installation packages for Microsoft Windows desktops (physical and virtual).

Experience with Application Virtualization to include, Citrix XenApp, Citrix App Layering, Microsoft APPV, and MSIX App Attach.

Experience with maintaining Windows desktop systems for mobile users on laptop hardware.

Experience with anti-virus and malware product integration within a Windows desktop configuration and remediation.

Experience with managing Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Management, DFS, DNS, DHCP, and VMware Dynamic Environment Manager.

Experience with Microsoft Azure and Office 365.

Experience with Windows Server 2016 and 2019.

Experience with Microsoft Windows automation scripting with PowerShell or other scripting languages.

Experience with managing and updating work tasks using ServiceNow.

Experience with maintaining system security compliancy following DISA STIGs.
