The Impact you will have in this role:
The Product Owner is responsible for translating the vision into results to achieve the product strategy, aligned with improving value to the client. This is done through managing scope and product backlog in collaboration with multiple squads, Product Manager, clients (internal/external) and key team members.
The position requires keen business analysis and communication skills to draft and present business requirements to both internal and external customers for ratification. Applicants are required to be proficient in depicting and describing business impact assessments between current-state and various future state business models. The position entails leading multiple internal customer meetings and representing Financial Risk & Governance's business in various forums on projects and new initiatives. The role also requires facilitating and leading external working groups composed of major industry participants that help guide on requirements and develop options.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
Translates the product vision and the roadmap into squad deliverables and release plans. Work with the leads of various Financial Risk & Governance teams to deliver on the specific initiatives prioritized and budgeted.
Coordinates and leads the squad's backlog.
Documents requirements in a clear and consistent manner through JIRA and other tools.
Support the Product Owner in an Agile squad and partnering with internal teams for implementation of new features ensuring that all proposed changes are reviewed, feedback is incorporated, and any impact is fully communicated to internal stakeholders.
Review, accept, or reject backlog items, according to acceptance criteria, during the sprint reviews.
Seeks feedback from stakeholders and clients and incorporates into future backlog items.
Effectively plan and prioritize multiple demands and overlapping tasks.
Facilitates and leads working groups and other relevant subject matter working groups.
Assists in product training efforts for all touchpoints with customers, inclusive of documentation, publications, training sessions, and FAQs.
Develop as an SME in an area of the product and, where required, assist in the preparation or attend meetings with clients to help with product area of expertise.
Identifies potential risks to achieving project objectives and elevates to appropriate management. Mitigates risk by following established procedures, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.
Partner with stakeholders to understand applicable legislation and develop requirements that drive regulatory compliant solutions.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred with Masters or equivalent experience.
Talents Needed for Success:
Exhibits deep insight of Agile Software Development (primarily Scrum and Kanban) principles and techniques.
Experience in Agile/scrum methodology, including defining a minimal viable product, and exposure to other software development methodologies.
Understands and uses applicable work management tools (i.e. JIRA) for decision making and collaboration.
Drives creative and solution-minded activity with all participants and customers
Knowledge of financial services operations and risk management; clearance and settlement, post trade processing, counterparty credit risk, & associated regulation, trends and user demands in these areas.
Complete the Product Vision and optimally translates into Product Roadmap and Backlog items to deliver the highest value.
Collaborate with product management peers globally to ensure standard methodology and core principals are understood, adopted and implemented in regional initiatives.
Ability to collect, analyze and visually present data via the use of charts, graphs or infographics.

The candidate will drive the analysis and product management activities in support of the delivery of innovative technology projects, including research and process innovation, for the TRI group. There is a strong individual-contributor aspect to this role requiring keen analytical skills, product & project management, stakeholder management, subject matter expertise and the ability to independently conduct exercises related to research, analysis, and process optimization.
The candidate will closely partner with functions across the enterprise to ensure alignment and successful delivery, including Product Management, Legal, Operational and Technology Risk, IT Architecture, Application Development, Infrastructure, Architecture Review Board (ARB), New Initiatives Office (NIO) and others. As such, strong collaboration and relationship building skills are a must, and a strong understanding and experience of existing DTCC processes related to project lifecycle and compliance will be a strong plus.
Key responsibilities include:
Project Leadership
Lead large-scale strategic projects or multiple concurrent tactical initiatives. Oversee project scope, timelines, and budgets, and provide regular updates to collaborators, senior leadership, and governance bodies. Leverage industry trends and guidelines to advise project strategies and decision-making.
Solution Vision
Own and facilitate the gathering and documentation of business and technical requirements. Draft functional and non-functional specifications, design workflows, and ensure alignment across teams on the desired end-state vision.
Technology Advisory
Recommend suitable technology stacks, assess architectural and software design proposals, and ensure compliance with internal standards and policies.
Vendor Management
Conduct technology due diligence and evaluate vendor offerings, including tools, platforms, and services. Lead vendor onboarding processes and contractual documentation.
Research and Innovation
Lead market studies, technology scouting, and process optimization efforts. Stay informed on emerging technologies and disruptions to find opportunities for innovation.
Strategic Communications
Develop content for internal and external audiences, including town halls, strategy sessions, blogs, videos, and public showcases. Collaborate with subject matter authorities to synthesize insights and support messaging.
Talents Needed for Success:
10+ years of experience in the technology industry, preferably related to application development, architecture and / or research
Experience in the financial services industry is highly preferred
Proven experience managing sophisticated technology projects in a fast-paced environment
Ability to translate strategic goals into actionable plans and results is required
Strong understanding of software development, architecture, and emerging technologies
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, ability to communicate technical topics to a non-technical audience
Experience with vendor evaluation and contract management

Highly preferred Specialized Skills
Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning experience is a strong plus

The Product Management, Associate Director, will drive the simplification and modernization of DTCC's client connectivity portfolio, bringing to market state-of-the-art multicloud and hybrid network connectivity models - including dedicated cloud interconnects, software-defined networking (SDN), and secure, scalable transport options that meet the performance, resiliency, and compliance needs of global financial institutions.
This role will shape the future of how clients securely connect to DTCC services - reducing onboarding friction, improving failover and latency performance, and enabling seamless adoption of cloud-native and hybrid operating models.
Partnering closely with Technology, Client Operations, Finance, Client Relationship, and other key stakeholders, the Associate Director will support the Product Management leadership of the Client Interfaces platform across the full product lifecycle.
