Deputy general managers are assistants to general managers in different industries. They carry out various tasks related to the planning and coordination of the activities of the company. They perform administrative tasks and contribute to the development of projects.

Working in this position, you will be one step away from an executive management position. It will be your job to set schedules for the staff, recruit and hire new employees and take care of their training, and step in for the manager in his/her or her absence.

A degree in business administration or a related area is usually necessary for people who rise to this position. Knowing your way around the operations of your company or department is the priority, though. Having great communication skills and the ability to both follow orders and work independently will also be essential. It will be worth your while to get the hang of it because the average yearly salary is around $104,801.
