Pros of working at Deseret Book

If you work for the corporate offices, then Deseret Book is not a bad company to work for.

Cons of working at Deseret Book

If you work in the retail part of Deseret Book it is only worth it of you are retired or a student. The wages are low compared to other retail places.

Deseret Book benefits

Full time employees have good benefits. Better than most. Part time employees only perk they get is Deseret Book will match whatever they take out of their 401k

How did you prepare for the Deseret Book interview?

Worked in the retail part of the company. Not that hard to prepare for an interview, since retail jobs are entry level.

How would you improve Deseret Book's culture?

Deseret Book needs to pay their retail employees more money. They have too much turnover. Lose good people to other companies that will pay them more.

What do you like best about Deseret Book's CEO and the leadership team?

The main person in charge of Deseret Book is Laurel Christensen. Sheri Dew is the CEO, but she is more on the DMC side. Deseret Management Corporation. Don't know much about them, but I'm sure they're good people.

How does your compensation at Deseret Book compare to the industry average?

The compensation is much lower compared to competitors.

Deseret Book tries to be diverse, but most people who work for the company are Caucasian . Deseret Book is in Utah and Utah is not a diverse place compared to most states in the United States of America
