The Brake System Design and Development Engineer is responsible for the development of brake systems and coordinating vehicle ordering, builds, shipping, and testing. Program management skills required to complete DVPR testing within the constraints of program timing and problem resolution to corporate metrics. The candidate should be able to root cause quality/build issues and implement corrective actions. Good communication skills are required for internal and external presentations on status and system performance. Also, communicating technical requirements to internal areas such as powertrain, electrical and vehicle development groups.
Requirements :
" Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree is required.
" Knowledge of vehicle level brake system design and validation experience.
" Knowledge of brake system, performance, and sizing modeling/analysis.
" DFMEA/SFMEA and DVP-R experience such as: write/review/execute a system level DVP for a brake system.
" Proven problem solving skillset (ie: Shainin, DFSS, Red X, etc.) and analytical skillset.
" Experience with Technical report writing.
" Highly motivated and self-starter
" Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

Preferred Requirements:
" Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
" 5-10 years of experience in vehicle testing, preferably brake testing
" Brake system modeling and system analysis experience
" Design and release experience of brake components.

Job Description:
Windgap is looking for a hands-on Senior Design and Development Engineer to enable the design and development processes associated with bringing autoinjector drug delivery devices to market. The candidate's responsibilities will be divided between advancing a new product platform design (starting at an early proof-of-concept phase) and supporting products in late development stages. The candidate should be a flexible self-starter who is effective at managing their time to meet goals. They should also be comfortable investigating and executing a wide variety of tasks. Experience in prototyping, design for manufacture, and design for assembly of complex mechanical devices in the medical field are a must. Ideally the candidate would also have experience designing assembly equipment or electromechanical systems.
The candidate will:report to Director of Product Developmentcontribute to the early-stage development of customized wet/dry autoinjectors; focusing on mechanical and electromechanical systems, complex actuators, mechanism designs, testing instruments, and prototyping manufacturing methodsdesign and develop hand-held drug delivery devices with an emphasis on mass production and emergency use applicationstest, evaluate, and troubleshoot prototypes and then ideate, assess, and implement improvementsperform root cause analysis of manufacturing issues on mature products, prepare and execute relevant experiments, document results, and suggest paths forwardsupport reliability, testing, and manufacturing engineers as products advance through development stagesinvestigate and assess potential vendors and their capabilities for prototyping and production level manufacturing solutionsbe capable of working both independently and in a team, while being flexible, self-motivated, curious, and willing to drive change in the drug delivery marketestablish individual and team goals consistent with overall project and company goals
Relevant experience:BS in ME, BME, or similar required; MS preferred A minimum of 5 years of working experience designing, building, and improving medical devices Skilled in SolidWorks. Structural and dynamic finite element analysis as well as experience creating simulations in Excel a plus. Design portfolio a plus.Proven experience in prototyping, design for manufacture, and design for assembly of injection molded mechanical devices Understanding of all phases of product development lifecycle including concept generation, design, rapid prototyping, manufacturing, verification & validation, qualification, and transfer to production Experienced with risk management in design including FTA, FMEA, and root-cause analysis Experience managing projects in highly virtualized organizations while successfully engaging and managing external resources, worldwide Preferably, experienced with electromechanical and pneumatic driven automation mechanisms Preferably, experience with parenteral and injectable-related medical device component technologies such as cartridges, needles, plungers, and elastomeric coating technologies Preferably, experience with drug/device combination products development Preferably, experience with ISO 11608, 13485, and 14971 standards Preferably, experience with designing hardware products in an FDA or other regulated industry Preferably experience working on US Government contracts Experience with MS Office, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, project management and presentation tools Some travel will be required

• Requires a 4-year degree and 5+ years of experience in industry, academia, or a federal research laboratory. Applicants with an M.S. or Ph.D. degree will also be given strong consideration
• 5+ years of experience in electronics CAD design and/or modeling

• Experience in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Experience with DFMEA and PFMEA
• Packaging design or development experience using statistical analysis software, such as JMP or Minitab
• Knowledge in electronics packaging test equipment: C-SAM, x-ray, pull tester, shear tester, etc.
• Knowledge of power module reliability and failure modes
• Knowledge of power devices such as SiC MOSFETs, Schottky Diodes, and IGBTs
• Understanding of and the desire to learn about interactions between SiC device parameters and final power module performance parameters and how they affect converter efficiency
• Knowledge and use of ML/AI driven simulation & modeling tools to concurrently optimize several module performance parameters
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment (Class 1000 or better)
