A thorough understanding/ experience in the Outside Plant telecom industry, public right-of-way, private easements, existing utilities such as water, sewer, electric, gas, and other underground and aerial utilities.
Knowledgeable in city, county, state and local municipalities encroachment permits, Traffic Control and specialty permits (e.g., UPRR, Caltrans, etc.), easement right away and various environmental permits are highly desired.
Must be able to interact with the local municipalities, Telco engineers and construction/maintenance forces to acquire OSP Records, ICGS, Assessor Maps, map info, AIS and Construction Prints.
Site surveys, translating field notes to develop and update conduit/ cable engineering design drawings in AutoCAD.
Experience Desired

The Position
The Mechanical Designer for Above Group shall contribute and support HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Process Piping design efforts for the firm. The MD shall directly contribute to the Firm and its success through drafting and design efforts. The MD shall execute drafting and design duties as required to ensure quality is always maintained.
The MD is a Designer by education and experience:

Has expertise in fire protection, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing and mechanical utility systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Working Conditions
20% office, 80% shop floor with hands-on experience.
Must be willing to conduct physical confirmations in the manufacturing environment and conduct testing on the manufacturing floor and/or at vendor sites.
Overtime are normally required based on fluctuating new model workloads.
