Once a project is developed and approved, you, as the project manager, will oversee the design effort and assist in the construction process. MPC will provide training and educational opportunities to help you develop your knowledge of other engineering disciplines. Reliability Engineers support the refinery's Maintenance Department through design and development of equipment related improvements. Such improvements include root cause failure analysis, optimization of maintenance programs in rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, etc.), and troubleshooting fixed equipment (refinery pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems, etc.). Reliability Engineers will also be continuously challenged to find new technology in design, materials and repair methods to achieve refinery goals of longer running times at lower costs.

This role will provide hands-on engineering support for troubleshooting, equipment strategies, and improvement projects, while gaining exposure to API and ASME codes, Turnarounds, and client-facing engineering work. Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Maintenance and Inspection teams to troubleshoot mechanical issues with pressure vessels, storage tanks, and piping systems.

Identify and help resolve operational reliability issues to enhance plant performance.
Generate Management of Change (MOC) documentation and maintain unit records, tabulations, and drawings.

Participate in Turnarounds and other planned outages as needed.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor of Science (or higher) degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
15 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
Experience with large static equipment (vessels, piping, exchangers, heaters, etc.) required.
Knowledge of Predictive and Preventive Maintenance Programs a plus.
Familiarity with ASME and API codes preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders/stairs, and work at heights.
Ability to enter confined spaces (with proper training/permits).
Lift and carry up to 2550 pounds occasionally.
Normal hearing and vision (close, distance, depth perception, focus).
Must wear required PPE: hardhat, safety glasses, FRC, gloves, steel-toed boots, hearing and respiratory protection as needed.
