Job Description
Mechanical analysis engineer will be responsible for structural and reliability analysis for SSD and its ingredient.
Data Centric Group (DCG) in Solidigm is responsible for the design and development of SSDs for enterprise applications. As a mechanical analysis engineer, you will review peers' designs and provide mechanical reliability risk assessment and mitigation solution. You will be the owner of the mechanical analysis Lab tasks and design experiments that are multi-disciplinary in nature. You will be creatively applying your technical know-how, engineering fundamentals, scientific knowledge, systems thinking, analytical thinking, prototyping and testing knowledge against design constraints and conditions to develop and productize cost optimized, mass producible SSD drives. You will closely work with NAND packaging team to conduct Solder Joint Reliability (SJR) analysis using FEA, conduct DOE's and provide recommendations on the package design. You will work on developing key relationships with internal design, manufacturing, quality and reliability teams, and Solidigm's outsourcing organization as well as suppliers to plan comprehensive product strategies based on future technologies.
Qualifications
MS degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of FEA experience or a PhD degree with 1+ years of FEA experience performing structural (static and dynamic) and thermal stress simulations using tools like ANSYS Workbench, ANSYS APDL or Abaqus
Minimum 1 years of design experience:
Drafting manufacturing drawings per ANSI Y14.5 and GD&T standards.
Conducting and verifying assembly tolerance analysis using EXCEL, JMP or equivalent tools
Experience in generating experimental test plans for mechanical strain measurements during four-point bending, shock, and vibration to validate FEA models
Efficient in creating project management plans, schedules, and strategy to meet requirements and perform risk assessments
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deliverables' timeline with no compromise on quality and performance
Demonstrated good verbal (public speaking) and written (in the form of reports and presentations) communications skills
Motivated, self-directed and able to work effectively both independently and in a team

Selection Procedures
Applicants for part-time and temporary recruitments who meet the minimum qualifications are either referred to the hiring department for further selection or they may be required to take a written examination.
