Role description:
Join our growing national Water Infrastructure Design Services group as a Staff Electrical Engineer with specialty in providing electrical engineering for water and wastewater facilities in White Plains, NY. This is a role with significant upward career mobility, and opportunities to work on small and large-scale industrial utility projects nationally. We're looking for individuals who want to progress as Electrical Engineers in the water industry, and who want to actively pursue their PE and advance in their concept, planning and design for industrial electrical systems. The primary focus of this role will be to provide technical and design consulting services with a focus on electrical power distribution, motor controls, lighting, and communications, to support projects for the Infrastructure Design Services Group in the Water Business Line.
Role accountabilities:
Project Involvement: Support Senior Electrical engineers on large-scale projects in project planning, design and design services during construction for water/wastewater facilities and other similar industrial facilities. For smaller projects, lead Electrical design efforts and coordination of under the supervision of a Senior Electrical engineer. This will include establishing design criteria, performing design calculations, developing one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans and specifications, under the supervision of Senior Electrical Engineer
Project Management: Develop project management skills including support in managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment; for project/task scope schedule and budget.
Software Skills: Utilize CAD Programs proficiently (Autodesk Products, etc.) to execute design work. You will be expected to perform system analysis using ETAP, SKM Power Tools or other power systems analysis software, under the supervision of Senior Electrical Engineer(s).
Construction Management: Perform engineering services during construction, including reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings and responding to contractor RFI's (request for information), under the supervision of Senior Electrical Engineer(s). This role will include conducting field inspections, assisting projects in construction which includes identifying deviations from design, and monitoring safety compliance.
Some travel may be required to support project needs.
Key Skills and Attributes:
We are looking for candidates with a developing knowledge of the National Electrical Code and related standards, who can work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams to help deliver projects on schedule and within budget. You should be comfortable assisting in client meetings under the guidance of senior engineers or project managers, and able to clearly present and explain your design ideas to others. Strong organizational skills are important, as you will need to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines. A willingness to accept feedback and continuously improve your work processes and technical skills is essential, along with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.

Responsibilities:
Take supervision and direction from the Assistant Port Engineer and Port Engineer.
Provides support and coverage to Assistant Port Engineers.
Identifies and troubleshoots technical vessel problems and provides fast solutions to minimize downtime.
Expedites vendors for critical repairs.
Coordinates and communicates with Marine Operations for critical repairs and determines a timeline for resolution.
Manages warranties and coordinates extended warranties for technical equipment.
