* Provide Mechanical Engineering services in support of aircraft modifications and system improvements.

* Design and develop complex aircraft systems, system integration laboratory test equipment, and complex ground support equipment using SolidWorks, NX, or CREO CAD software and ANSYS Finite Element Analysis.
* Assist in the planning and coordinating of engineering solutions including, documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical and other presentations to ensure viability of the solution(s) in an evolving environment.
* Work within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, interfacing with IPT leadership, suppliers, and other technical disciplines to independently prepare/status and/or lead the preparation of engineering design solutions to challenging problems.
* Support on-site product manufacturing and integration sites.
* Plan for future applications of solutions based on new developments in engineering technology.

General Description
ES3 is seeking to hire an Entry Level or Mid-Level mechanical engineer responsible for performing a variety of mechanical engineering functions, which primarily include, but are not limited to:
Dynamic modeling and real-time hardware in the loop simulation
Instrumentation design
Test execution and support
Data analysis and documentation
The engineer must have experience with Matlab and would benefit from a working knowledge of Simulink. Being a good problem solver, self-motivated and having the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment will set you apart from other candidates for this position.
This position may also require the following:
Solid modeling
Aircraft system level requirements analysis
Landing gear repair analysis, and
Test fixture development on a variety of military platforms.
This is a matrixed position where you will support several project managers in the execution of instrumentation efforts, data acquisition planning, simulation design/execution, data analysis, and report generation.
You will collaborate with a senior mechanical engineer for technical direction and project prioritization.

This Engineering position is planned for our Layton, Utah engineering office. This facility boasts private offices, more than 75 engineers, scientists, and technicians, along with proximity to our 240,000 square foot aerospace R&D laboratory, prototyping, testing, and production center. ES3 also has facilities in downtown San Diego, California; Warner Robins, Georgia; Midwest City, Oklahoma and Abilene, Texas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop Matlab Routines to Process and Analyze Data
Develop Aircraft Equations of Motion and Implement Computational Models in Simulink for Real Time Simulation on Physical Aircraft Hardware
Test Plan Development and Reporting
Instrumentation Design Including Sensor Selection, Layout, and Capture Rates
Test Execution Support and Results Analysis
Drawing and CAD Model Development in SolidWorks
Determine Interface Requirements, Design Modifications to Enable New Components to Interface with Existing Systems
Adept Report Writing Skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required/Preferred:
Matlab and Simulink
Fundamental Understanding of Multi-Degree of Freedom Rigid Body Dynamics
3D CAD Modeling Experience (SolidWorks preferred)

Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, prototyping, testing, and release of low-power mixed-signal electronics and firmware for pressure and level sensor products.

Support and improve existing product lines by implementing cost reductions, performance improvements, and process efficiencies.

Skilled in C/C++ programming and engineering tools such as Altium Designer, IAR, KEIL, and circuit simulation software.
Hands-on experience with RS485, 4-20 mA interfaces, and protocols such as Modbus, HART, or Fieldbus.
Familiarity with wireless IoT network protocols (preferred).
Strong capability with test equipment, environmental validation, and reliability testing.
