We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive process development, build execution, and the transition to scalable manufacturing for complex mechanical and electromechanical assemblies. This is a critical, cross-functional role that collaborates internally with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams, as well as externally with suppliers, partners, and customers. How You Will Make an Impact as a Manufacturing Engineer: Develop and maintain essential manufacturing documentation including Bills of Materials (BOMs), line layouts, assembly instructions, fixtures, pFMEAs, and production control methods. Plan, lead, and execute pre-production builds with a long-term vision for scalable, high-volume production. Collaborate closely with design and engineering teams to ensure products are robust, reliable, and ready for manufacturing. Consult with suppliers to define product specifications, and partner with the supply chain team to procure required equipment, materials, and parts. Interface with manufacturing partners throughout the design transfer process to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products that meet all performance criteria. Skills you will need to be successful in this role: B.S. in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering with 2-5 years of experience, or A.S. degree with 3-6 years of experience. Strong candidates with less experience may be considered. Experience with electromechanical assembly and manufacturing process development. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or green manufacturing principles is a plus. Proficiency in CAD software; SolidWorks preferred. Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus. Experience in medical device manufacturing is highly desirable. Proven ability to set up manufacturing assembly lines with an eye toward scalability and efficiency. Strong understanding of component forming processes, assembly operations, production line optimization, and design for manufacturability. Job Description Oversee the creation, development and implementation of manufacturing details and processes to maintain proper product functionality, traceability and cost efficiency. Position requires cross functional collaboration with procurement, machining, weld, paint and quality departments to drive process improvement, ensure efficient workflow, meet quality requirements and cost targets. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Define and develop manufacturing processes. Create manufacturing routers based on product requirements and best practice. Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions. Establish control plans for critical features and special processes. Define inspection requirements to ensure compliance to customer requirements. Champion process development and improvement to quality and efficiency. Determine and eliminate root cause of quality defects created by existing manufacturing processes. Develop tools, fixtures and test equipment required for manufacturing. Create Quote details for new and re-occurring orders. Support legacy product and New Product Introduction (NPI), working with a team of Program Managers, Project Engineers and Quality Engineers to meet shipment goals. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 3+ years of experience developing manufacturing processes for machining, welding and/or electromechanical assembly. Experience with manufacturing processes to include CNC machining, paint, coating, plating, welding, heat treating, inspection and assembly. Detailed understanding of GD&T and experience interpreting detailed engineering drawings. Experience with project management responsibilities. 3+ years of experience in a defense/aerospace related job shop environment is preferred. BS in Mechanical, Quality, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering discipline or 5+ years of equivalent on the job training and experience. Proficiency in MS Office Products Demonstrated proficiency in Solidworks. Experience with SolidWorks and CAM software a plus especially CAMworks.
