· Conduct field investigation of mechanical systems with the intent of identifying energy savings opportunities and condition of MEP systems.
· Assist in preparing technical audit reports.
· Perform engineering calculations including building loads, air and water static head pressure, ventilation rates, psychrometric analysis.
· Size, select, and schedule heating and cooling equipment including packaged equipment, air handling equipment, condensing units, pumps, boilers, and chillers.
· Aid in preparing schematic sketches, drawings, details, and reports of mechanical systems to accomplish the goals and objectives of projects. Mechanical systems include HVAC, building automation, plumbing, chilled water, heating water and steam generation and distribution, natural gas, medical gas, compressed air and fire protection systems.
· Provide support of technical decision making for engineering, in conjunction and coordination with the lead engineer and project manager.
· Support construction administration for projects, as assigned.
· Comply with project plan to ensure scope, schedule, budget and expectations (SSBE) corresponds with team expectations.
· Ensure conformance to office and industry design standards and codes.
· Coordinate and prioritize workload to ensure project deadlines are met.
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.

Electronics Technicians Navigation (ETV) are responsible for maintaining all electronic equipment used in navigating and piloting submarines. As an ETV, your responsibilities may include:
Maintaining, repairing, calibrating, tuning and adjusting navigation equipment
Operating, monitoring and maintaining radar, gyrocompass, inertial navigation and global positioning systems
Maintaining equipment used to detect, identify and track other maritime vessels
Maintain accurate navigation data, and develop and execute navigation plans
Conducting preventive maintenance on interior communications circuitry
Operating atmosphere monitoring equipment and ship control subsystems

Work Environment
As an ETV, you'll work primarily aboard submarines in a clean, controlled environment. You may also work indoors in a clean lab or shop environment while on shore.
Training & Advancement
Upon completion of initial training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes (known as Boot Camp), you'll report for specialized training, including:
Basic Enlisted Submarine School (8 weeks) in Groton, CT, for training in basic submarine systems

Join our dynamic Power Delivery team as a Transmission Design Engineer in our Joplin, Overland Park, or Omaha offices. This role involves developing your expertise in electrical distribution, substation design, and protection and control systems. You will support senior engineers in all project phases, from planning to construction administration, ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Design and analyze innovative power delivery systems.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on exciting projects.
* Participate in site visits and field inspections.
* Prepare technical reports and documentation.

**DESIGN ENGINEER INTERN ROLE SUMMARY**
The Engineering Team is a critical group within DI whose purpose is to turn remarkable ideas into reality. The members of the Engineering Team are experts at balancing creative intent while also setting up the Production and Install teams for success as projects move through production and out into the field.
Falling in the middle of a typical project timeline, the Engineering Team must collaborate both up and downstream. As a Design Engineer Intern, you will work closely with the Creative Studio to understand and retain design intent while also collaborating with Production to work through the realities of building objects out of metals, wood, plastics, and other appropriate materials necessary to create remarkable experiences.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Working collaboratively with our Design, Production, Technology and Project Management teams to bring our experience design projects to life
* Assist the Engineering Team with reading, interpreting and preparing production and submittal drawings utilizing SolidWorks 3D Modeling software
* Participating in a variety of project meetings
* Performing at high levels in a fast paced, deadline-driven and ever-changing work environment
**PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:**
* Experience with Solidworks preferred
* Familiarity with Rhino / Grasshopper a plus
* Knowledge of materials, technology and fabrication techniques are a bonus but not required
* Previous internship in engineering or production is highly desirable
* An entrepreneurial spirit and desire to bring a fun, creative and energetic level of professionalism to the team
* Exude a “Go where needed” attitude and outlook on role
* Comfortable with failing while remaining positive
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form
* Ability to prioritize tasks and evaluate urgency
* Organized with an attention to detail
* Preferred majors: Industrial Design, CAD/Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or similar degree
**ADDITIONAL DETAILS**
The Design Engineer Internship is an hourly (non-exempt), full-time opportunity that runs from June 2nd, 2025 - August 1st, 2025. Applications will close on December 31, 2024. This is an onsite Monday - Friday internship in our Kansas City location. You must be at least 18 years of age, and currently enrolled as a college junior or senior or actively enrolled in a related postgraduate program. Please submit a portfolio with your application.
