Duties & Responsibilities: Provide technical support to Marketing and Manufacturing for existing product offerings. Evaluates alternative materials for cost reductions/improved performance. Helps with new product development and product modification work. Helps to develop product parameters, specifications, and engineering drawings. In conjunction with his supervisor and the Purchasing Department, works with vendors concerning tooling and part fabrication issues. In the product development process helps consider: Regulator issues Safety regulations Application procedures Quality acceptance criteria Verification Analysis Design review requirements Helps provide technical performance data necessary to support the sale of new and modified products. Helps extend, after proper testing and engineering evaluation, existing products to affect greater use by customers. Helps modify products to do specialized jobs required by customer and deemed necessary by marketing or engineering. Helps in handling field complaints and product failures. Helps analyze problems, solutions, or recommendations after proper engineering and laboratory studies. Consults with Materials Engineer to determine causes of material failures. Works with Production, Quality Assurance, and Materials Engineer in helping determine acceptable quality and resolving problems of questionable quality of products. Helps interpret engineering recommendations, customer specifications, and engineering drawings. Attends technical meetings, conferences, and specialized courses consistent with area of responsibility. Is capable of developing and conducting material test procedures to comply with industry and customer specifications. Prepares and performs analysis in support of product development. Uses Pro-E, SolidWorks design, or Auto-Cad software. Qualifications & Requirements: B.S.
