Your role
* Leads the design, integration, and commissioning of communications systems, including but not limited to radio networks, fiber optic infrastructure, data transmission systems, and digital signalling for passenger and freight rail environments.
* Ensures all communications systems are engineered to meet operational requirements, safety standards, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance.
* Coordinates multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex communications projects, collaborating with signalling engineers, IT specialists, systems integrators, and operations staff.
* Oversees the development and review of system architectures, interface specifications, and test procedures to ensure seamless interoperability between communications subsystems and legacy infrastructure.
* Provides technical leadership during system hazard analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and safety/cybersecurity certification processes.
* Acts as the primary technical liaison with clients, regulatory agencies, and third-party vendors on all matters related to communications systems, ensuring that project deliverables meet or exceed industry best practices and client expectations.
* Defines scope of communications projects, with full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, and executing project assignments related to communications systems.
* Selects problems for investigation, developing novel approaches and solutions to technical challenges in communications engineering.
* Conducts quality control checks, reviewing calculations, designs, evaluations, and specifications developed by design staff for accuracy and completeness, performing on-site inspections and reviews of communications installations, and conducting or overseeing remedial design work.
* Keeps abreast of state-of-the-art methods and developments in communications systems, digital networks, and cybersecurity for rail/transit.
* Recommends changes or improvements to communications plans and programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FRA, FTA, IEEE, AREMA).
* May function as the project manager for routine to semi-complex communications projects. Responsibilities may include marketing, negotiating contracts, budgeting, financial management, schedule coordination, and resource allocation.
* Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor, particularly those related to communications systems.
* Work involves coordination, research and problem solving on a variety of engineering projects with unique or controversial problems, the solution of which has an important effect on major organization programs.
* Supervision received is essentially administrative, with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. Acts independently on technical matters relating to his/her field.
* Work direction given to others: Supervises and/or coordinates with other senior professionals and support staff.
* Interfaces with senior technical professionals, technical managers, and administrative staff and managers as necessary.
* Represents the organization in conferences with clients, prospective clients, and regulatory agencies.
About you
* B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field. M.S. or graduate-level technical coursework preferred.
* P.E. license is Desired.
* This level may be achieved by engineers with ten years' experience since B.S. or nine years since M.S., with significant experience in communications systems for rail/transit or similar environments. Typical incumbent has 15 to 20 years of experience in communications engineering.
* 10 or more years of rail/transit experience focused on communications is required.
* Strong technical writing and communications skills, proven through technical presentations, technical papers, and/or participation in technical committees.
* Demonstrated expertise in train control, signalling, and related safety-critical systems.
* Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., AREMA, IEEE, FRA, FTA) and safety certification processes.

Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) is the tank farm operating contractor at the Hanford Site located in Richland, WA. The H2C mission is to safely store, retrieve, and treat 56 million gallons of legacy radioactive and hazardous waste. This complex mission spans all competencies of engineering/science accomplished through a highly integrated engineering organization. Engineering at H2C supports all areas of the tank farm mission including Production Operations, Field Projects, Waste Feed Delivery Projects, Retrievals, and long term innovations.
Production Operations Engineering provides a variety of engineering services in support of the operation and maintenance of Integrated Tank Disposition Contract (ITDC) facilities and ensuring proper implementation of engineering requirements, including: developing inputs, assumptions and design criteria for tank farm facility modifications; administrating the System Engineering program and providing Cognizant System Engineering (CSE) and Shift Technical Engineer (STE) support to facilities; providing resident waste transfer and characterization technical expertise and facility knowledge in support of operability determinations, performance monitoring program, centralized resolution of Structures, Systems, and Components (SSC) performance problems; and providing Maintenance Engineering support.
H2C is seeking mechanical engineers responsible for providing engineering support to the AZ Team that is responsible for east area tank farms (A, AX, B, BX, BY, C, AN, AW, AY, AZ and 702AZ Facility) and ST Team that is responsible for west area tank farms (S, SX, SY, T, TX, TY, U) directly supporting the ITDC facilities and H2C Engineering. As a registered Professional Engineer, perform professional environmental engineering duties in an assigned program involving the protection of public health and/or the protection or restoration of the environment. May assist or lead assigned engineers and/or other staff.
Represents the agency as a registered Professional Engineer and provide/approve final engineering designs and decisions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Serves as a registered Professional Engineer performing New Source Review investigations and analysis. Performs Notice of Construction permit writing and inspections for new sources of air pollutants within the Agency's jurisdiction. Performs engineering analysis of industrial and commercial processes and material flow to determine and control air pollutant emissions. Reviews and evaluates permits and permit applications to ensure compliance with current engineering requirements and local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and codes.
•Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies; prepares, recommends and/or coordinates enforce action (civil and criminal penalties, directives, or regulatory orders) against the regulated community based on a review of applicable engineering information;
•Independently plans and/or conducts specialized comprehensive engineering inspections and/or studies of municipal and industrial environmental treatment facilities to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and design/performance requirements;
•Provides professional engineering expertise to the review and evaluation of proposal or existing environmental permits and permit applications; negotiates and prepares permits; makes final recommendations on enforcement actions;
•Provides professional technical engineering assistance to agency staff and management, the regulated community, their consultants and the general public;
•Interprets regulations, policies, technical engineering guidelines, and procedures covering design requirements, engineering review, and operation and maintenance requirements for environmental control or management facilities;
•Prepares, reviews, and negotiates with applicable parties for environmental permits, regulatory orders and environmental plans and monitoring programs for assigned program(s);
•Prepares and delivers engineering oriented presentations to professional groups and/or the public regarding department programs; serves as an expert witness in judicial proceedings and public hearings;
•Conducts environmental reviews of existing, potential and proposed air pollution sources consistent with SEPA (State Environmental Policy Act) regulations. Reviews environmental checklists and environmental impact statements and other proposals for air quality impacts.

An Air Quality Engineer II performs most of their responsibilities in direct contact with other members of the Agency, the public, and others in the air quality field. This individual must be able to move freely throughout our building, the business and residential community. They must also have basic accounting, administrative and clerical skills. Due to the level of authority and accountability involved, this individual must be able to make sound judgments, based on a clear assessment of the facts, looking at both long and short-term ramifications. An Air Quality Engineer II must be proficient at Microsoft Office, be able to read, examine for errors and comprehend materials and equipment ranging from specialized gauges and instruments to letters and memos to government regulations and be able to explain these materials to others who may not possess the same level of technical expertise. This individual must have excellent vision. Most work is performed in a quiet to moderately noisy environment, generally free of hazards. Local travel is sometimes involved. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Gain expert level knowledge of product and application in fresh produce packaging equipment.
Gather and document customer requirements through sales reps, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Travel to project sites to gather site and customer requirement information.
Translate customer requirements into RFQs and specifications for third party vendors and Volm partners.
Work closely with third party vendors and Volm partners to develop solutions to customers packaging equipment needs.
Develop project proposals, pricing, and scope documents for customer quotes and contracts.
Create accurate BOMs for sourcing department to procure equipment.
Utilize design skills to creatively solve space restriction issues with third-party vendors and Volm partner equipment.
Develop plant layouts integrating customer, third party vendor, and Volm partners CAD models.
Create accurate installation drawings to allow Volm technicians to install equipment.
Travel to project sites to assist installation team with engineering support.
Manage equipment projects from concept to execution.
Perform technical/product training for sales team members, technicians, and customers.
Provide status of ongoing and future projects.
Assist in the creation of engineering standards and best practices.

Field Robotics Engineer
As a Field Robotics Engineer at Carbon Robotics you are responsible for ensuring customer success via successful implementation and support of Carbon Robotics Equipment. You'll be responsible for owning, scheduling, and prioritizing maintenance tasks on the LaserWeeders as well as owning and ensuring successful implementations. This includes training of operators, making usage recommendations based on agronomic knowledge and implementing set up. Documentation and Permitting

Essential Responsibilities & Duties
Leadership & Mentorship
Lead multi-disciplinary project teams in the execution of complex design/build/test projects, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget objectives are met.

Technical Expertise
Provide strategic technical leadership in mechanical design, collaborating with engineers, designers, and shop staff.
Conduct design analysis and reviews to ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, ASME B&PV, ASME AG-1).
