BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.

Lead the review and approval of mechanical drawings and designs to ensure accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with internal standards and customer specifications.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance performance of existing designs, including legacy products.
Provide direct engineering support to the fabrication and production teams to troubleshoot issues, clarify designs, and ensure successful execution on the shop floor.
Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product or process issues identified during manufacturing or testing.
Create and revise 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation using SolidWorks.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Procurement, and Project Management to ensure successful project delivery.
Mentor junior engineers and drafters in best practices for mechanical design and documentation.
Participate in prototype builds and support validation testing of new or revised components.
Maintain and update engineering documentation including BOMs, and change notices.
Monitor industry trends in emissions, noise, and fabrication processes to support innovation and compliance.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (master's degree is an asset.)
5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with exhaust systems.
Expertise in reviewing and redlining technical drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in SolidWorks and engineering analysis tools.
Hands-on understanding of fabrication techniques including welding, forming, and assembly.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with shop personnel.
Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
Experience with SCR and other emissions technologies considered an asset.
