Job Description:
Mechanical Design Engineers with experience in mechanical machine and equipment engineering and design as well as 3D modeling and knowledge of sheet metal and machining processes. Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault design software is preferred.
Duties:
Proficiency in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor & Vault design software and related Autodesk tools: Lantek 3DFlex sheet metal processing software: and JobBoss ERP software. MS Office software experience is also required.
Adapt designs to specific customer requirements as necessary.
Handle all aspects of custom mechanical equipment design and its implementation including: Sales Proposal drawing preparation, Conceptual design, design calculations (e.g. - motor sizing, equipment throughput, equipment loads, etc.), CAD design, purchase parts specification, fabricated parts specification & design, parts list preparation, as-built documentation & work order changes. Ensure project designs are completed on-time and within budgeted design hours.
Work with other Mechanical Engineering department members to complete equipment design.
Support Production Department as necessary with issues during manufacturing, testing or installation.
Participate and lead activities (as assigned) to improve department procedures, design documentation & design automation practices.
Participate and lead activities (as assigned) to modify, improve or prepare department Best Practices and Procedures documents.
Support other departments with various company improvement activities.
Occasional travel to customer job site for engineering and/or start-up purposes.
Support design activities for new products.
Education & Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned.
* Provide technical support and competitor comparison/analysis.
* Respond to quote requests from sales representative network and customers directly.
* Analyze and review customer specifications both from a technical and commercial perspective.
* Work directly with Vapor Power / Precision Boilers Regional Sales Managers to support our independent sales representatives and end customers.
* Advise Mechanical Designers in the creating and modifying of 3D models and 2D drawings SolidWorks.
* Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks or AutoCAD as needed.
* Generate budgetary quotations and final bid proposals in a timely fashion.
* Maintain reporting of active proposals and quoting pipeline.
* Assist in project management for production orders.
* Work with engineering department to ensure customer submittal drawing packages are delivered in timely manner.
* Coordinate with internal departments for order entry flow.
* Acts as a liaison between company, customers, and vendors.
* Communicates and collaborates with all departments to ensure a seamless project outcome.
* Assists with research and development of new products and services.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
* Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical background.
